When Sawyer Bennett announced her new urban fantasy series, I couldn’t wait to see what world she was going to create, and it is off to a fantastic start!
A New Urban Fantasy World
If you’re looking to escape into an urban fantasy book – this is it.
Bennett slowly unlocks a magical world that has been hidden to humans for millennia. A contemporary world with humans, fae, daemon and magic- this book has it all.
Great Characters
Finley is a twenty-eight year-old working at a coffee shop but she has special abilities which have placed her in the psych unit in the past.
But it only takes one look for billionaire, Carrick, to recognize her abilities.
It’s from him that she learns she’s not crazy but living in a world of fae and daemon.
I love how she accepts this new revelation and is determined to learn more about her ability and what it may mean for her.
Carrick is a man of mystery. I can’t wait for the next books to peel back the layers on this alpha male.
While there is definite attraction between these two there is not much romance in this first book, but I’m sure it’s to come.
As the first book of a 5 part series it may feel a bit slow to develop but you have to be in this for the long haul. This book lays a great foundation to the world that actually exists, a mystery to be solved and trouble to come.
There is just enough story, suspense and chemistry along with fantastic writing to want to see where this goes.
