If you’re looking for a sweet, feel good holiday romance, this book could fit the bill.
Audrey finds herself traveling to Colorado from L.A. in search of a mysterious owner of a bed and breakfast her boss wants her to secure the sale of by Christmas. In no uncertain terms, she’s told make the sale or don’t bother coming back to work.
Upon arriving in CO, she literally crashes into single dad Colin and is stuck in the small town until her rental is fixed AND she saves her job.
What follows is what you’d expect – she falls for the single dad and he falls right back. But can you fall in love that fast and uproot your life to take a chance? That’s the question for Aubrey to figure out.
While I liked the story and family dynamic to this book, I had a few hang ups which kept me from really loving it.
I honestly felt like I was reading a novella instead of a full romance book.
At just over 200 pages, maybe it’s better billed as a novella because if I went into it with that frame of mind then I probably could have overlooked some of the things that irked me.
Basically the book went FAST and only covered the span of about a week. I’m all about insta-love in the right instances but this one pushed it for me making it hard to really sink into the story.
Plus, the description of the intimacy scenes got a bit cringeworthy…
The authors gave some great characters in all of Colin’s brothers and sisters. I only wish we could learn more about them!
While I do think the book could have been great if maybe it was made longer and with more character development, it had a cute story and a sweet happy ending which is why I ended up giving it 3 stars.
