This was my first Allie Winters book and I really enjoyed it! Count me in for more!
Sometimes when you read new adult romance books set in college, they can all start to sound the same after a while but I found this to be a fresh story that really had me hooked to see how Lexie and Ethan would find their happily ever after.
Lexie and Ethan are both college students in the same class but Lexie immediately stereotypes him as the dumb jock when she sees heโs a boxer who works out in the gym where her father trains up and comers.
While sheโs spent years taking care of herself and keeping to herself for self-preservation, she finds herself claiming Ethan as her boyfriend in order to participate in a psych study on love to earn some well-needed cash.
Ethan goes along for the ride which kicks off their time together when he slowly breaks down her walls.
I loved the idea of this psych study and how it forced them to become closer with the various tests they had to do.
Ethan was such a good guy who really just tried to be there for Lexie and take things at her pace (well except for that first intimacy scene which seemed a bit odd and forward and fast and the TOTAL wrong place but then again itโs college so I went with it).
Lexie is one of those strong heroines I love to read because she had some legit reasons as to why she stuck to herself and didnโt want to put herself out there in a relationship. I thought that Winters did a great job with her progression which made it seem really realistic.
If you love fake relationship love stories and those set in college then youโll definitely want to pick this one up. I highly recommend it!
