Say You Swear by Meagan Brandy: My Book Review
Check out my book review of Say You Swear by Meagan Brandy, a college romance book that is sure to make you ugly cry.
The Verdict: Say You Swear has the BEST book boyfriend in Noah, our football quarterback hero. I absolutely loved this book for him alone and his relationship with Ari. I almost put it in my DNF pile, but once they got to college, this friends to lovers romance took off. Read my entire review below to learn more!

Say You Swear Summary:
My brothers best friend broke my heart, but what happens when his new teammate wants to put it back together?
For years, I’ve dreamt of what college life could bring and while some things changed, there was always one constant.
It didn’t matter how wild I allowed my imagination to run, it always led me to the same place in the end.
It led me to him. My future was clear, and he was it. Until suddenly, he wasn’t.
Now there’s a new man in my life, one who isn’t afraid to go after what he wants, and what he wants … is me.
They say first loves last forever. What about the second?
Say You Swear: My Review
I honestly picked this romance book because I was looking for a good football romance book to read but it was all that and more!
Reader beware โ read this book only if youโre prepared to ugly cry multiple times.
Iโm going to start this review with the best part of the book โ Noah.
Noah has catapulted himself onto my favorite book boyfriends of 2023 list because he is simply AMAZING!
I mean, WOW! This is the type of man I hope my daughter finds โ someone who is instantly smitten but puts in the time to get to know her and someone who loves and cherishes her above all else.
I am putting Noah on a pedestal but he deserves to be there.
I loved how he just clicked with Ari and when they reconnected, he could sense her heartbreak. He was the best friend to her and never pushed her for more.
Their friendship-turned-more was so sweet. He just seemed so wise and mature beyond his 21 years.
Now, you know Noah is amazing, but also know that this romance book has a bit of a love triangle aspect to it.
Ari has been in love with Chase, a family friend and best friend to her twin brother Mason.
The summer before college she finally makes her move. I canโt go into this more without spoilers but the last half of the book tore my heart up in more ways than one.
So why not a 5-star rating?
As much as I absolutely loved the last part of the book, I almost put it in the DNF pile because the beginning was all over the place.
I read this as a standalone but it must be connected to a series because Brandy threw in SO MANY characters at the beginning it was crazy.
I mean we are already dealing with a 5-friend group as it is, but all these other people just got confusing and she even went into storylines about the sister of a cousin that just didnโt fit. I mean WHY?! It wasnโt even completed for goodness sakes.
So, if you can make it until they go to college, youโre golden. Take out all the extra cousins, Paytonโs storyline, and Masonโs possessiveness and injury – all the excess that distracted from the real story, and then this would be amazing.
Despite this, I did love it and recommend it for Noah ๐.
