Finally Bebe’s story is here and it was great!
I loved Bebe since reading Code Name: Genesis when Kynan go her out of federal prison for her cyber crimes. She is a young, brilliant hacker who got in too deep with a Russian cybercriminal and paid the price. Just as she is getting her feet back under her, the bad guy is back and wants her gone.
And into her life walks Griffin…
At first, I wasn’t sure what to make of Griffin with his creeping on Bebe in her backyard. Then the kicker – he’s watching her because he’s been sent to kill her. What the what?! Not the greatest of meet cutes from Bebe’s perspective but Griffin believes it’s fate.
Without giving away any spoilers, I really liked the guy Griffin turned out to be. He has principles, is caring and when it comes down to it, will do anything for Bebe.
I’m not usually one to pick up a romantic suspense book because it’s not my favorite genre, but I love Sawyer Bennett and ever since reading Code Name: Genesis I had to complete Bebe’s story. Plus, anytime you get more Kynan, it’s a treat. He’s the best boss, friend and confident whom I’ve loved in all the Bennett books he’s been in.
I also loved Dozer in this book as he was a great friend to Bebe and had some antics that made me laugh. The book also proved to be a great set up for the next book in the series, but not overly so. It was just enough to peak my interest.
My one hang up with this book is that there was just too little time between Griffin and Bebe’s initial run in and the start of their relationship. A bit more time spent together before the truth comes out would have made things more believable to me.
Despite that I enjoyed the book which was a quick read. Plus, if you’ve ever been to Pittsburgh (or lived there liked me) then you’ll love the area references. They were spot on and had me craving a Primanti’s sandwich!
