Half-human and half-Wyr, Pia Giovanni realizes that her days are numbered once sheโs blackmailed into stealing from a dragon โ the most powerful of the Elder Races.
Sheโs always kept a low profile to protect her true identity but when Dragos spares her for her crime, her life as she knows it changes forever. As does her heart for the dragon who claims her for his own.
Iโve been on a fantasy romance kick as of late and have been meaning to check out Dragon Bound for some time ever since Book Binge picked it as one of their favorites for my list of Best Romance Books According to Top Romance Book Bloggers.
I have to say that it did not disappoint!
What I loved most about this romance was that it is a complete story. Meaning that the entire relationship develop and arc of the story is completed by the end of the story and isnโt left on a cliffhanger.
While I do love books that set you off for an epic fantasy book series, sometimes I just want the happy ending already!
You get the best of both worlds with this one because Dragon Bound is a complete story in itself but launches an entire series that follows other characters that you come to meet in this one.
I was kind of surprised that the conflict in the story was actually short and sweet (the fight between Dragos and the Dark Fae King) but the real story is the relationship and mating between Pia and Dragos.
Their relationship is intense from the word go given the reason for them meeting in the first place (she did steal from him!) and the short time span of their mating, but it was fantastic.
Characters to Fall For
Head smart and courageous Pia did not cower from Dragos even though he could and should have ripped her to shreds and I loved her for it.
She continually stands up for herself and yet this is what ultimately attracts Dragos in the first place besides his curiosity of wanting to know who and what she is.
Dragos is the alpha hero I totally fall for.
He has ruled over his kind and been a loner for thousands of years and yet heโs totally brought to his knees by his attraction to Pia.
Iโll take Wyr mating any day if their intensity is the norm โ wow!
The best parts of the story was when Dragos adapted and learned to compromise as a partner in a relationship and didnโt act just as a dictator. It was these moments where I fell hard for him.
This is honestly a rather quick story but had great relationship development, cool world building of the Fae and magic and a delectable alpha hero to drool over. I definitely recommend.
