March 2022 New Romance Book Release Themes
This month brings FOUR of my most anticipated romance books of 2022 including the fourth book in Armentrout’s Blood and Ash series that I am just chomping at the bit to read.
I admit that I’ve already read Tessa Bailey’s new release as soon as the advanced reader copy was available to me because I just HAD to read Fox and Hannah’s story. You’re going to love it.
This month I’m going to read an enemies to lovers romance, a modern retelling that goes Bollywood, a fun, accidental marriage romance and a delightful historical romance to name a few.
What new romance book release are you excited to read this March? Share in the comments below as I’d love to hear it.

My Most Anticipated New Romance Book Releases for March 2022
A Friends to Lovers Romance
Releasing March 1
King crab fisherman Fox Thornton has a reputation as a hot, carefree flirt who’s a guaranteed good time–in bed and out–and that’s exactly how he prefers it. Until he meets Hannah Bellinger. She’s immune to his charm and looks, but she seems to enjoy his… personality? And wants to be friends?
Now, Hannah’s in town for work, crashing in Fox’s spare bedroom. She’s still nursing a hopeless crush on a colleague yet the more time she spends with Fox, the more she wants him instead.
Bailey’s first book in this series, It Happened One Summer, was one of my favorite romance books of 2021 so I couldn’t wait to read this follow up. It did not disappoint and will definitely be one of my favorite romance novels of 2022. You’ll love this friends to lovers romance that really tugged on my heartstrings. My Review.
An Enemies to Lovers Romance
Coming March 1
With a successful career as a romance editor, and an engagement to a man who checks off all her boxes, Lanie’s more than good. Now she’s given the opportunity of a lifetime: to work with world-renowned author and her biggest inspiration in love and life—the Noa Callaway. All Lanie has to do is cure Noa’s writer’s block and she’ll get the promotion she’s always dreamed of. Simple, right?
But there’s a reason no one has ever seen or spoken to the mysterious Noa Calloway. And that reason will rock Lanie’s world. It will call into question everything she thought she knew. When she finally tosses her list to the wind, Lanie may just discover that love By Any Other Name can still be as sweet.
I really am a sucker for romance books with characters who have something to do with the book world. I love that this one features an editor who thinks she has it all going on and an author with a secret I cannot wait to find out.
A Modern Retelling Romance
Coming March 8
Kamila Hussain’s life might not be perfect, but it’s close. She lives a life of comfort, filled with her elaborate Bollywood movie parties and an endless array of friends who clearly need her help finding love. In fact, Kamila is so busy with her friends’ love lives, she’s hardly given any thought to her own.
Fortunately, Kamila has Rohan Nasser. A longtime friend of the family who is now making her insides do a little bhangra dance.
But life is busy and Kamila isn’t letting herself get distracted—until her secret nemesis returns to town with an eye for Rohan. Suddenly, it seems like the more Kamila tries to plan, the more things are starting to unravel—and her perfectly ordered life is about to be turned upside down.
Emma goes Bollywood? Yes please! This book sounds so delightful and I cannot wait to see what craziness Kamila gets into while denying her love for Rohan. I love the diversity of this romance.
A Fantasy Romance
Releasing March 15
Nothing will stop Poppy from freeing her King and destroying everything the Blood Crown stands for. With the strength of the Primal of Life’s guards behind her, and the support of the wolven, Poppy must convince the Atlantian generals to fight her way.
But battle is only the beginning. Ancient primal powers have already stirred, revealing the horror of what began eons ago. To end what the Blood Queen has begun, Poppy might have to become what she has been prophesied to be—what she fears the most.
I have honestly been waiting for this book as soon as I finished The Crown of Gilded Bones which ended on a cliffhanger! I miss Casteel and Poppy and need more of them stat. I’ve already made my family aware that I’ll be unavailable after cracking open this one until I hit the end.
An Opposites Attract Romance
Releasing March 15
Franny Doyle is having the worst day. She’s been laid off from her job, the subway doors ripped her favorite silk dress to ruins, and now she’s flashed her unmentionables to half of lower Manhattan. On the plus side, a dashing stranger came to her rescue with his suit jacket.
Now Franny and her knight-in-couture, Hayes Montgomery III, are the newest social media sensation despite being a disastrous match. Only the more they keep running into each other, the more they like each other’s company.
This book had me at dashing stranger. 😊 It’s fun how romance book authors use social media to bring their characters together, especially complete opposites as with this one. I’m hoping to check out this title and Spencer’s work since I have yet to read her books.
An Accidental Marriage Romance
Releasing March 15
What I meant to do in Vegas: Let my hair down for once and celebrate winning a medal at my first women’s hockey all-stars competition. What I actually did: Got senior prom drunk and woke up married to Brooklyn’s star winger, the great Neil Drake.
He’s the heir to a billion dollars, and I barely survived my childhood. Our friendship is based strictly only on hockey, takeout food and smack talk. And now holy matrimony. Although we both know it can’t last, especially once his family gets wind of our Vegas shenanigans.
I really enjoyed Bowen’s first book about the women’s hockey team and can’t wait for this second one. Neil was hilarious and I can only imagine the shenanigans these two get into in this book. I’m all for it. It doesn’t hurt that this is an oops marriage romance which I love.
An Opposites Attract, Romantic Comedy
Releasing March 15
Winnifred Gobaldi and Byron Visser are not best friends. Yes, they’ve known each other for years, but they’re not even friendly. The truth is, they have nothing in common.
She’s a public school science teacher with stars in her eyes, and he’s a pretentious, joyless double PhD turned world-famous bestselling fiction author. She’s looking for a side hustle to help pay down a mountain of student debt, and his financial portfolio is the stuff of fiduciary wet dreams. So why are they faking a #bestfriend relationship for millions of online spectators?
When a simple case of tit-for-tat trends between nonfriends leads to a wholly unexpected kind of pretend, nothing is simple. Sometimes, it takes a public audience to reveal the truth of private feelings, and rarely—very rarely—you should believe what you see online.
Penny Reid is writing an opposites-attract fake relationship romance? I’m in! Is anything really real online anymore? Besides this blog and my love of romance that is! I love how Reid tackles real world topics and looks at social issues while also giving me a love story with all the feels. Plus, this cover- it’s almost reason enough alone to read this one!
An MM Romance
Releasing March 15
I hate Drew Edwards. Smug, charming, flippant, and a royal pain, Drew has a way of making everyone fall in love with him, but I know the truth. Under that public persona is a ruthless man who’ll do anything to come out on top. He’s done it to me before…and a leopard doesn’t change his spots.
Hudson Montgomery hates me. If anything, his hate only fuels my desire to provoke the man at every opportunity. So, when the chance to publish the most scandalous book of the year comes down to our companies, I’m determined to do whatever I have to in order to take Hudson down.
This book was supposed to be released in January so it’s been trying to make my top 10 new releases list for some time! I love Blaine’s MM romance books and I have a feeling this one is going to be oh so good. Kicking off the Hate to Love You world, I never turn down a great enemies to lovers story, so this is a must read this month (hopefully 😊).
A Fake Relationship, Sports Romance
Releasing March 29
After losing his career and his fiancée in a car accident, NFL quarterback Ronan Smith falls into a pit of grief and bad choices. When a mysterious girl shows up to his party, he feels drawn to her and makes her his…for one night.
Fast-forward two years when Nova Morgan returns home to Blue Belle, Texas, and finds her broody neighbor is none other than Ronan, the shiny new football coach everyone adores. Her disastrous one-night stand.
The two begin fake dating to hold off those hoping to fix them up, but things heat up for real under these Friday-night lights when he realizes she’s the one who slipped away.
This is another book that caught my eye just from the cover. Must be all the yellow this month! I can’t remember what the last Madden-Mills book I read was so it’s high time I read another which is why this made my Most Anticipated Romance Books of 2022 list.
A Historical Romance
Releasing March 29
Miss Cleopatra Lewis is about to be launched in society by her aristocratic grandfather. But since she has no intention of marrying, she visits a costume emporium specifically to order unflattering dresses guaranteed to put off any prospective suitors.
Powerful and charismatic Jacob Astor Addison is in London, acquiring businesses to add to his theatrical holdings in America—as well as buying an emerald for a young lady back in Boston. He’s furious when a she-devil masquerading as an English lady steals Quimby’s Costume Emporium from under his nose.
Jake strikes a bargain, offering to design her “wallflower wardrobe” and giving Cleo the chance to design his. Cleo can’t resist the fun of clothing the rough-hewn American in feathers and flowers. And somehow in the middle of their lively competition, Jake becomes her closest friend.
It isn’t until Cleo becomes the toast of all society that Jake realizes she’s stolen his fiercely guarded heart.
Costumes, witty wagers, sensuality…what more could I want in a historical romance?! It’s probably blasphemy that I haven’t read a James’ book so I’m going to correct that this month. Sometimes I just need a bit of historical romance love to make everything right in the world.
