January 2022 New Release Themes
I can already tell you that you’re definitely going to want to read Roberts’ next book in her Dark Olympus series, Electric Idol. It was SO good and one of my first 5 star books of the year.
I also can’t wait to continue the Wild series by K.A. Tucker with her newest release.
This month I’m also hoping to catch an enemies to lovers book, an office romance, and a historical romance plus several new MM romance as well.
What new romance book release are you excited to read this January? Share in the comments below as I’d love to hear it.
My Most Anticipated New Romance Book Releases for January 2022
A Contemporary Rom-Com
Releasing January 11
Who gets married in a Vegas drive thru chapel, in an Uber, on their divorce-cation? Coraline Turner, that’s who.
Now she needs to get an annulment but her hot, British husband wants to try to give the marriage a go. So, she does everything in her power to repel him, but he sees right through her.
It’s pretty much a given that any romance book written by Quinn will make my must read list. I just love the banter she writes and the stories that give all the feels. I need to catch up on this series but I also enjoy a good married in Vegas romance!
A Hockey Sports Romance
Releasing January 10
The first time I met Max Yearwood was on a blind date. Turned out, Max wasn’t who I was there to meet. He only pretended to be until my real date showed up. Before he left, he slipped me a ticket to a hockey game a few blocks away, in case things didn’t work out on my actual date. Apparently, my fake blind date hadn’t invited me to watch hockey with him, he’d invited me to watch him play.
And so began my adventure with Max Yearwood. He proposed we spend the summer helping me forget my ex. Though, you know what they say about the best-laid plans.
I do love a good hockey romance and I can’t wait to check this one out by Keeland. The set up for these two characters sounds way too cute so I have high hopes!
An Office Romance
Releasing January 11
Ari Abrams loves almost everything about her job as a TV meteorologist. Only her boss is too distracted by her tempestuous relationship with her ex-husband, the station’s news director, to give Ari the mentorship she wants.
The only person who seems to understand how she feels is sweet but reserved sports reporter Russell Barringer.
In the aftermath of a disastrous holiday party, Ari and Russell decide to team up to solve their bosses’ relationship issues. Between secret gifts and double dates, they start nudging their bosses back together. But their well-meaning meddling backfires when the real chemistry builds between Ari and Russell.
Soloman wowed me with her previous office romance, The Ex Talk, so I’m ready to dive in with her latest release. From talk radio to TV, I’m excited to see how the chemistry builds between Ari and Russell.
A Modern, Greek Mythology Retelling
Releasing January 18
Psyche knew she’d have to face Aphrodite’s ire eventually, but she never expected her literal heart to be at stake…or for Aphrodite’s gorgeous son to be the one ordered to strike the blow.
Eros has no problem getting his hands dirty. But when it comes time to take out his latest target, he can’t do it. Confused by his reaction to Psyche, he does the only thing he can think of to keep her safe: he marries her. As they try to find a way out of their mess, lines blur and loyalties shift and two hearts are at risk.
I thoroughly enjoyed Robert’s Goodreads Choice Awards nominee, Neon Gods, and couldn’t wait to read this new release in the series. Who can pass up a scorching hot modern retelling of Psyche and Eros? Well let me tell you, you don’t because it was H-O-T and oh so good. Definitely going to be one of the best of 2022! My Review
An Enemies to Lovers, Opposites Attract, MM Romance
Releasing January 18
My sister is rushing into a marriage and instead of stopping it, I’m left to plan the wedding and share a too-small guesthouse in steamy Miami with the other best man. Three days in the sun with the charming former athlete who likes to push my buttons? Fine, two can play at that let’s-infuriate-each-other game.
Until Asher ups the stakes with one wild suggestion. A no-strings fling, then I go back to my single dad life in New York, and he returns to his star-studded one.
But the more nights I spend with the other best man, the more I want days too, and that just can’t happen. Especially when I find out the real reason why.
A MM romance written together by Bowen and Blakely? Oh yeah! I have a feeling this is going to be oh so good and oh so steamy. Bring it!
A Contemporary Romance
Releasing January 24
Connor Daniels never thought he’d be starting over at dating square one. His career as a successful doctor, and his three boys, are everything to him. It’s not exactly a set-up conducive to a scorching love life—but he’s giving it a shot.
ER nurse Violet Robinson never intended for Connor to find out she’s had a crush on him forever. It was a little secret only meant for her dirty dreams. Her heart trips every time he’s around—and so do her feet.
When Connor sees Violet coasting across the grocery store parking lot—and she falls on her face—he starts falling for the gorgeous, young nurse right back.
Emma Chase’s releases are way to few and far between so when one drops I can’t contain my excitement! This first released as an audiobook but we can finally get our hands on the ebook this month. Can’t wait!
A Historical MM Romance
Releasing January 25
Valentine Layton, the Duke of Malvern, has twin problems: literally. It was always his father’s hope that Valentine would marry Miss Arabella Tarleton. But, unfortunately, a marriage of convenience will not do for the romantic and she flees into the night determined never to set eyes on Valentine again.
Despite copious misgivings, Valentine finds himself on a pell-mell chase to Dover with Arabella’s twin brother, Bonny, by his side. But being with him makes Valentine question everything he thought he knew. About himself. About love. Even about which Tarleton he should be pursuing.
Oh, this sounds really, really good! It’s been some time since I sunk into a great historical romance and I’m hoping Hall can do the trick and deliver with this witty romance.
A Contemporary Romance Set in Alaska
Releasing January 25
Veterinarian Marie Lehr knows unrequited love all too well after pining for her best friend, only to watch him marry another woman. It’s a mistake she will never make again, especially not when she can practically hear the clock ticking on her childbearing years.
The trouble is, she can’t seem to find anyone who appeals to her even a fraction as much as that burly bush pilot did. And yet, competitive musher Tyler Brady seems to spark feelings beyond annoyance after their initial, heated meeting.
While volunteering at the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, Marie discovers that first impressions may have been false, and her attraction to Tyler is very real. But his heart belongs to someone else, leaving him with nothing to offer but friendship. Marie’s been down this road before and knows how that ends. Yet, no matter how hard she works to keep from falling for Tyler, it seems she’s doomed to follow her own trail once again.
Words cannot convey how excited I was to hear that Tucker was continuing her Wild series and bringing us Marie’s story. I have LOVED The Simple Wild and every book in this amazing series and look forward to seeing how Marie will finally find her happily-ever-after.
An Enemies to Lovers Romance
Releasing January 25
Three years ago, Katrina Freeling and Nathan Van Huysen were the brightest literary stars on the horizon, their cowritten books topping bestseller lists. But on the heels of their greatest success, they ended their partnership on bad terms, for reasons neither would divulge to the public. They haven’t spoken since, and never planned to, except they have one final book due on contract.
Facing crossroads in their personal and professional lives, they’re forced to reunite. The last thing they ever thought they’d do again is hole up in the tiny Florida town where they wrote their previous book, trying to finish a new manuscript quickly and painlessly. Working through the reasons they’ve hated each other for the past three years isn’t easy, especially not while writing a romantic novel.
There’s just something about romance books about romance writers that I adore. This will be my first book by these authors and I hope it’s going to be a great second chance love story.
