New Romance Book Releases Coming October 2022
This month I’m excited for two books releasing in series that I’ve been crushing so hard on. One’s a billionaire romance and another is a fantasy romance but each can be read as a standalone.
Of course, so many Colleen Hoover fans are counting down to her new release that comes out this month.
I have a feeling she will be sticking around the bestsellers’ lists for the rest of the year!
October also continues the release of a few Christmas romance books and a forbidden, sapphic romance that sounds SO good.
And the Fall 2022 Smartypants Romance release has so many great titles, including two that I cannot wait to read this month.

The Top 10 New Romance Book Releases of October
Final Proposal
by K. Bromberg
A Billionaire Romance
Releasing October 4
One stormy night. One hotel bar full of stranded travelers. One available chair next to a charming, mysterious man.
When our paths crossed again, I never expected the stranger to be Fordham Sharpe who I’d just become partners with in a hotel transformation that dreams were made of.
To him, I was off limits. But we had one thing in common—we were both hiding. From our pasts. From unresolved family conflicts. From what really mattered—our hearts.
But as each day passed, our mutual attraction became harder to resist.
We agreed to the partnership to prove our worth to our families, but perhaps we’d only prove our need for something else. Each other.
This is book three in the S.I.N. series about three billionaire brothers and I’m so psyched for Fordham’s story.
I’m always up for a forbidden, office romance and I just love their initial meet cute. Bromberg blew me away with the first book in this series, Last Resort, and I’m hoping she does it again with this one.
A Curse of Queens
by Amanda Bouchet
A Fantasy Romance
Releasing October 4
After centuries of conflict, the three kingdoms of Thalyria have finally been reunited. But now the queen has been cursed, the royal lineage has been broken, and no one knows who’s behind the plot to threaten the once-fractured realm’s fragile new peace.
Desperate to help, Jocasta—the king’s younger sister and a gifted healer—hatches a daring plan to find Circe’s Garden, a fabled island where she hopes to discover an antidote. But she can’t do it alone.
She needs the strong arm and unflinching bravery of the warrior she’s loved since childhood—her brother’s right-hand-man and captain of the guard, Flynn of Sinta.
Flynn has spent years fighting to deny the desperate longing burning between them, but he cannot allow Jocasta to face this danger alone.
Yet with old feelings blazing bright and treachery brewing on Mount Olympus, one thing is clear: Thalyria and its new royals are still pawns in an epic game of power—one that might end in a War of Gods.
I love this series so much ever since reading A Promise of Fire, and can’t wait to check out this new release! Bouchet is such a talented writer and I love how she mixes Greek mythology into this fantasy romance.
I also have a thing for secret longings and I have a feeling this brother’s best friend romance is going to be sizzling hot when feelings are unveiled!
You’re a Mean One Matthew Prince
by Timothy Janovsky
A Christmas, MM Romance
Releasing October 4
Matthew Prince is young, rich, and thoroughly spoiled. But one major PR misstep has Matthew cut off and shipped away to spend the holidays in his grandparents’ small town.
He’s now stuck in some festive winter wonderland AND having to share space with Hector Martinez, an obnoxiously attractive local who’s unimpressed with anything Matthew does.
Just when it looks like the holiday season is bringing nothing but heated squabbles, the charity gala loses its coordinator and Matthew steps in as a saintly act to get home early on good behavior.
But even a Grinch can’t resist the unexpected joy of found family, and in the end, the forced proximity and infectious holiday cheer might be enough to make a lonely Prince’s heart grow three sizes this year.
I am so ready to get in the festive mood and this looks like the perfect book to do it, which is why it made my Christmas books of 2022 list!
Janovsky hooked me with his debut novel, Never Been Kissed, so I’m looking forward to seeing what he does with this Grinch for a holiday romance.
Mistakes Were Made
by Meryl Wilsner
A Forbidden, Lesbian Romance
Releasing October 11
When Cassie Klein goes to an off-campus bar to escape her school’s Family Weekend, she isn’t looking for a hookup—it just happens.
But then the next morning her friend drags her along to meet her mom—the hot, older woman Cassie was with last night.
Erin Bennett came to Family Weekend to get closer to her daughter, not have a one-night stand with a college senior.
What should have been a one-time fling quickly proves impossible to ignore, and soon Cassie and Erin are sneaking around. Worst of all, they start to realize they have something real.
But is being honest about the love between them worth the cost?
Um…this book had me at “college senior who accidentally hooks up with her best friend’s mom.” 😊
I love a good forbidden romance and this is one storyline that I know I have not read before but am so ready for.
I’m giving Wilsner another chance with this one because it sounds so good, so here’s hoping it delivers!
Pin This for Later:
Before I Do
by Sophie Cousens
A Contemporary Romance
Releasing October 11
Head-in-the-stars Audrey is about to marry down-to-earth Josh. Though they are polar opposites, they have a healthy, stable relationship.
But as the big day approaches, Audrey’s found herself wondering if Josh really is “The One.”
So, when Josh’s sister shows up to the rehearsal dinner with Fred, Audrey’s “What If? guy”—the man she met six years ago and had one amazing day with—Audrey finds herself torn.
Surely Fred’s appearance the night before she is due to get married can’t be a coincidence. And when everything that could go wrong with the wedding starts to go wrong, Audrey has to ask herself: Is fate trying to stop her from making a huge mistake?
I am fascinated by this storyline and can’t wait to find out what happens. Does she get married to her opposite? How do you ever know who is The One? Gah! What happens?!!
I love it when a book already hooks me from just reading the blurb and this one definitely has.
It Starts With Us
by Colleen Hoover
A Contemporary Romance
Releasing October 18
Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil coparenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again.
After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date.
But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life, and Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter’s life.
It Ends With Us has been at the top of the bestseller’s list for weeks so I can only imagine that this follow-up novel is going to be just as big of a hit for Coho fans.
I love when love stories get a second look with more than one book so buckle up to get more of Lily, Ryle, and Atlas in this anticipated new release! My Review.

A Cosmic Kind of Love
by Samantha Young
A Contemporary Romance
Releasing October 18
When event planner Hallie Goodman receives party-inspiration material from the bride of her latest wedding project, the last thing she expects to find in the files are digital videos from Darcy’s ex-boyfriend, an astronaut on the International Space Station.
She really shouldn’t watch them but it’s not long until she starts sending e-mails and video diaries to his discontinued NASA address. Since they’re bouncing back, there’s no way anyone will ever be able to see them…right?
Christopher Ortiz is readjusting to life on earth. When a friend from NASA’s IT department forwards him the e-mails and video messages Hallie has sent, he can’t help but notice how much her sense of humor and pink hair make his heart race.
Separated by screens, Hallie and Chris are falling in love with each other, one transmission at a time. But can they make their star-crossed romance work when they each learn the other’s baggage?
This has been on my radar since I added it to my most anticipated romance books of 2022 list last year and it’s finally dropping!
Having just visited the Kennedy Space Center and learned more about life in space, I’m even more excited about this unique story.
I love Samantha Young’s writing so I’m hoping this one becomes one of my favorites of 2022.
Partners in Crime
by Alisha Rai
A Contemporary Romance
Releasing October 18
Mira Patel’s looking for a stable romantic relationship. Armed with a spreadsheet and professional help, she sets out to find her partner, but much to her matchmaker’s dismay, no one is quite right.
Including Naveen Desai, the very first match she unceremoniously rejected.
When Mira walks back into Naveen’s life to settle her aunt’s affairs, he’s determined to keep things professional…until they get kidnapped.
Suddenly, Naveen and Mira find themselves in a mad dash through Las Vegas to escape jewel thieves, evade crime bosses, and follow the clues to untangle the mess her family left behind.
As her past comes back to haunt her, Mira despairs of ever finding someone who might understand her…but maybe, over the course of one wild night, she’ll find that he’s right by her side.
There’s just something about matchmaking romances that I adore and this one sounds like it’s going to be a wild ride.
Mira sounds like quite the control freak who’s about to have one crazy night. I’m anxious to see how their predicament brings them closer in this caper.
Knock Out
by Jiffy Kate
A Contemporary Romance
Releasing October 20
In the blink of an eye, Willow Bernard goes from stocking shelves at the Piggly Wiggly to kicking butt at Viking MMA.
Willow Bernard has taken a lot of hits in her twenty-two years but always manages to come back swinging.
Tattooed adventure-seeker Ozzi Erickson goes where the wind takes him. When he blows into Green Valley for his big brother’s wedding, he isn’t prepared for the knock-out punch coming his way.
With Ozzi sticking around the Tennessee mountain town, his brother gives him a temporary assignment as Willow Bernard’s trainer.
His job is to teach her how to fight. But will she have the skills required to protect her heart?
I think this is finally the time for me to check out Jiffy Kate’s work with a romance focused on MMA. I love it!
There are so many shenanigans in store when it comes to the folks of Green Valley and I love the storyline of this romance. Let’s see if these two have a fighting chance together.
Well Acquainted
by Laney Hatcher
A Historical Romance
Releasing October 27
There are three things you need to know about Lady Eliza Morgan:
1. In addition to being a busy physician, she’s an accomplished seamstress.
2. She’s the victim of a broken heart.
3. The man who shattered it is the one man she can never have.
Some things are better left in the past, but Eliza has spent years running from hers.
When the man who upended her life re-enters it in the most unexpected way, Eliza must decide if reacquainting herself with Nicolas is worth the heartache.
He’s charming and irritating and makes her realize there is so much more than the life she’s been living. But first she must confront her painful past if she and Nicolas have any hope for a future.
Oh Laney, thank you so much for not making me wait too long for the next book in this series. I adored Neanderthal Seeks Duchess and I can’t wait to read your historical spin on Reid’s Friends Without Benefits.
I’m so ready to escape into a historical romance and I can already tell I’m going to love it! My Review.
