Everyone knows Miz Poppy, the reviewer of New Orleans nightlife, but no one knows Hollyn, the real face behind the media star. When her boss tells her she needs to add video to her blog, sheโs forced to seek help with her fear or lose her job.
Enter aspiring actor Jasper Deares, who realizes he has a perfect opportunity to help his acting career while helping the shy reviewer come out of her shell.
One of the best romance books of 2021!
Whatโs not to love about this book?
The Writing– This is my first Loren book and if all of her books are this well written and engaging then count me in for reading her entire library of books.
She makes writing seem so effortless with character dialogue that is just superb and with excellent story pacing.
Genuine Characters โ I adored Hollyn and Jasper. Both had pasts and mental health issues affecting their past, present and futures and yet Loren did not make the story all about their โissues,โ showcasing that they are more than their social anxiety disorder, Tourettes syndrome and ADHD.
Those aspects of their personalities did not have to define them or hold them back.
Hollyn could have easily been written into this box as the quiet, shy heroine but she really blossomed in this story in a real and authentic way.
Jasper was an amazing character and I just loved him. His humor and carefree attitude made him extremely likeable.
I absolutely loved how Loren portrayed this character and ate up everything this guy had to say. He was so sweet to Hollyn and the best book boyfriend to her.
The Story โ While the storyline of an outgoing hero helping the shy girl may not be original, I thought this story stepped out of the box and was something original all its own.
I appreciated Jasperโs backstory, giving him his own vulnerability, and I also liked the addition of Cal to Hollynโs story arc.
Loren didnโt need to resort to excess drama to move the storyline which was refreshing.
Kudos to Loren for writing a fantastic romance with diverse characters and an engaging story that had me captivated from start to finish. I canโt recommend it enough.
