Falling Into Place: My Review
If Tomorrow Never Comes is one of my favorite romance books of 2025 so when I heard that Carly, one of its characters, was getting her own book, I had to read it immediately. But to be honest, Iโm now a โread anything Allison writesโ kind of fan so it was a no brainer that Iโd dive into this new release!
While Carly is a character you initially meet in another book, Iโll start by saying that Falling into Place can absolutely be read as a standalone as there is zero connection to that other book โ no mention of what transpired and occurred or her connection to those characters so feel free to pick it up without issue.
You meet Carly, two years after she moved back to her hometown of Oklahoma City to pursue her love of fashion as a career. Sheโs only doing the fashion/personal styling gig part-time however while juggling a boring accounting job to pay the bills but sheโs presented with an opportunity from her best friend that might get her the coveted full-time job at her fashion firm. The catch is that she has to personally style her best friendโs older brother, a hot doctor who has become socially isolated and maybe a bit depressed over the fourteen years to becoming an intensivist in an ICU unit. Heโs reluctantly agreed to become showcased as the โbachelorโ of OKC for his sisterโs magazine to breathe life into its circulation and subscription but the payout turns out to be his connection with Carly.
Despite knowing the risks of acting on what becomes their mutual feelings, they canโt help themselves and it was so fun seeing them admit their feelings to one another. Their connection was obvious from the start and I loved how Allison had Carly help Brooks with not only his wardrobe but his dating skills. It was so easy to root for these two who clearly deserved each other given the challenges they had faced in their pasts and how those challenges impacted their feelings towards relationships in the present.
I loved so many things about this romance: Brooksโ relationship with his sisters (and how he saw right into their ploy at the beginning!), Brooksโ experience as an ICU doctor, his relationship with his former coach, their mutual love of cats and their quirky hobbies, the vegetable jokes, and so much more. I only wish I could meet someone with Carlyโs talent to help me pick out some awesome wardrobe finds!
Donโt even get me started on Brooksโ dating profile. Major swoon!
I was completely hooked on this story from the start and couldnโt stop reading it until the end because I needed their happily ever after. I even thought the moments of conflict were great choices for where this story was going.
Allison is such an incredible writer from her character development to story pacing and just the way she grabs you with every character and moment of the story that you just want more.
I cannot recommend this book or her writing enough!
