15 Best Friend’s Brother Books That Will Make You Swoon
If you love best friend’s brother books, I’ve got some of the best worth reading in this book list.
Now, the best friend’s brother trope is not to be confused with its sibling trope, brother’s best friend books! While they are so similar, they are different so I couldn’t help but create my own list with the best books in this trope.
These are romance books where a main character falls for the brother of her/his best friend as opposed to falling for the best friend of their own brother. See the difference? But really who cares because both tropes are so deliciously fun to read! 😊
Dive into these amazing books but then check out my favorite brother’s best friend books as well. Your TBR list will thank me.
Happy reading because life is better with a love story!

My Top Best Friend’s Brother Books:
Things We Hide From the Light
by Lucy Score
Nash Morgan was always known as the good Morgan brother, with a smile and a wink for everyone.
But now, this chief of police is recovering from being shot and his Southern charm has been overshadowed by panic attacks and nightmares.
He feels like a broody shell of the man he once was. Nash isn’t about to let anyone in his life know he’s struggling.
But his new next-door neighbor, smart and hot Lina, sees his shadows. As a rule, she’s not a fan of physical contact unless she initiates it, but for some reason Nash’s touch is different. He feels it too.
The physical connection between them is incendiary, grounding him and making her wonder if exploring it is worth the risk.
Too bad Lina’s got secrets of her own, and if Nash finds out the real reason she’s in town, he’ll never forgive her. Besides, she doesn’t do relationships. Ever.
A hot, short-term fling with a local cop? Absolutely. Sign her up. A relationship with a man who expects her to plant roots? No freaking way.
But once Nash decides to make Lina his, he’s not about to be dissuaded…even if it means facing the danger that nearly ended him.
Lina and Knox are best friends but when Lina moves into the apartment across from Knox’s brother, Nash that’s when things start to heat up between the two.
I absolutely adored the friendship and romance that bloomed between these two wounded souls and loved how Knox tried his best to stay out of the way.
You really should read Things We Never Got Over first (because it’s awesome!) but this can easily be read as a standalone too. Check out my review of Things We Hide From the Light.
Twisted Hate
by Ana Huang
Gorgeous, cocky, and fast on his way to becoming a hotshot doctor, Josh Chen has never met a woman he couldn’t charm—except for Jules Ambrose.
The beautiful redhead has been a thorn in his side since they met, but she also consumes his thoughts in a way no woman ever has.
When their animosity explodes into one unforgettable night, he proposes a solution that’ll get her out of his system once and for all: an enemies-with-benefits arrangement with simple rules.
No jealousy. No strings attached. And absolutely no falling in love.
Outgoing and ambitious, Jules Ambrose is a former party girl who’s focused on one thing: passing the attorney’s bar exam.
The last thing she needs is to get involved with a doctor who puts the SUFFER in insufferable…no matter how good-looking he is.
But the more she gets to know him, the more she realizes there’s more than meets the eye to the man she’s hated for so long.
Her best friend’s brother. Her nemesis. And her only salvation.
Theirs is a match made in hell, and when the demons from their past catch up with them, they’re faced with truths that could either save them …or destroy everything they’ve worked for.
Oh lordy, this best friend’s brother romance is SMOKIN because of the enemies to lovers vibe between Jules and Josh.
Jules may be best friends with Josh’s sister Ava, but they totally got off on the wrong foot when Ava overheard Josh warn Ava away given Jules’ wild ways.
My favorite thing about this romance was the amazing chemistry between Jules and Josh which totally translated into some very steamy bedroom scenes- just saying!
This was my favorite in the Twisted Love series and is one not to miss. Check out my review of Twisted Hate.
On Dublin Street
by Samantha Young
Four years ago, Jocelyn Butler left her tragic past behind in the States and started over in Scotland, burying her grief, ignoring her demons, and forging ahead without attachments.
Her solitary life is working well – until she moves into a new apartment on Dublin Street, where she meets a man who shakes her carefully guarded world to its core.
Braden Carmichael is used to getting what he wants, and he’s determined to get Jocelyn into his bed. He knows she has a past, one that has made her skittish about getting into a relationship, so he proposes an arrangement that will satisfy their intense attraction without any strings attached.
But after an intrigued Jocelyn accepts, Braden decides he won’t be satisfied with just mind-blowing passion. The stubborn Scotsman is intent on truly knowing her…down to the very soul.
This was my first Samantha Young book and it totally lived up to the hype. Jocelyn has lived through quite a lot in her 22 years so her heart was pretty hardened to love. But Braden wasn’t about to let that stop him from going after his sister’s new friend and roommate.
Read this then move onto the next book in the series, Until Fountain Bridge, which is Ellie’s book and a wonderful brother’s best friend romance!
Romancing Mister Bridgerton
by Julia Quinn
Penelope Featherington has secretly adored her best friend’s brother forever. After half a lifetime of watching Colin Bridgerton from afar, she thinks she knows everything about him, until she stumbles across his deepest secret.
Colin Bridgerton is tired of being thought of as nothing but an empty-headed charmer, tired of the notorious gossip columnist Lady Whistledown.
But when Colin returns to London from a trip abroad, he discovers nothing in his life is quite the same, especially Penelope Featherington!
The girl who was always simply there is suddenly the girl haunting his dreams. When he discovers that Penelope has secrets of her own, this elusive bachelor must decide – is she his biggest threat or his promise of a happy ending?
If you’re in the mood for a historical romance, then this is the best friend’s brother romance for you.
Penelope is best friends with Eloise Bridgerton but has always secretly pined for her older brother Colin. But Penelope has more than one secret which could end any potential relationship with Colin before it even has a chance to start!
You can’t go wrong with this romance, plus you’ll be able to see Penelope and Colin’s romance come to life in season three of the TV series, Bridgerton!

Savor the Moment
by Nora Roberts
Wedding baker Laurel McBane is surrounded by romance working at Vows wedding planning company with her best friends Parker, Emma, and Mac. But she’s too low-key to appreciate all the luxuries that their clients seem to long for.
What she does appreciate is a strong, intelligent man, a man just like Parker’s older brother Delaney, on whom she’s had a mega-crush since childhood.
But some infatuations last longer than others, and Laurel is convinced that the Ivy League lawyer is still out of her reach. Plus, Del is too protective of Laurel to ever cross the line with her-or so she thinks.
When Laurel’s quicksilver moods get the better of her-leading to an angry, hot, all-together mind-blowing kiss with Del—she’ll have to quiet the doubts in her mind to turn a moment of passion into forever.
You really can’t go wrong with a Nora Roberts book and I absolutely loved her Bride Quartet which I binge-read from start to finish.
Laurel and Del’s story is one of my favorites because you understand their apprehension and desire to move from friends to something more when they’ve known each other their whole lives.
I love the friend group in this series but Del is a winner when it comes to book boyfriends. Definitely add this best friend’s brother romance to your TBR list!
Another Christmas from Hell
by R.L. Mathewson
It was time to move on for Cayley though she would have preferred to wait until after Christmas.
But since her best friend manages to get her fired and evicted in the same day, she has no choice but to move into the apartment across from the man that really didn’t seem happy to see her.
It doesn’t matter because if she could handle her best friend making her life a living hell and an ex-fiancé that was determined to get her back, then she could handle the man that was willing to do whatever it took to let the past destroy them both.
For years, Bryce had been going out of his way to avoid Cayley, hoping that she would finally move on, but now that she was back, he realized that he no longer had a choice.
He was going to have to break her heart.
At least that was the plan until the little brat turned the tables on him, making him wonder how much longer he was going to be able to lie to himself even as one thing became painfully clear – this was going to be the worst Christmas ever.
If Mathewson keeps writing new books in her Neighbor From Hell series, you bet I’m going to read it. I thought this best friend’s brother romance had a great mix of Mathewson’s humor along with the crazy shenanigans that follow the Bradfords, James, and their entire extended family.
I loved how Bryce was so gone for Cayley, his little brother’s best friend, and yet totally in DENIAL. They had this enemies to lovers vibe going on for such a long time that finally began to shift when Cayley moved next door.
Though a Christmas romance, you can absolutely read this any time of year!
Where I Belong
by J. Daniels
When Mia Corelli returns to Alabama for a summer of fun with her childhood best friend, Tessa, there’s only one thing keeping her on edge. One person that she’d do anything to avoid.
Benjamin Kelly.
Mia hates him with a fury and has no desire to ever see him again. When she decides to start her summer off with a bang and finally give away her v-card, she unknowingly hands it over to the one guy that excelled at making her life miserable, learning a valuable lesson in the process. Always get the name of the guy you’re going home with.
Ben can’t get the girl he spent one night with out of his head. When she leaves him the next morning, he thinks he’ll never see her again. Until he sees her lounging by the pool with his sister.
Mia is determined to hate Ben, even though she can’t forget him. Ben is determined to prove he’s not the same guy he used to be. What happens when the one person you wish never existed becomes the one person you can’t imagine being without?
I’m such a sucker for virgin romance books and I really liked this one that also tied in a great enemies to lovers story with Mia’s best friend’s brother.
I’m glad that Mia couldn’t recognize her childhood bully when they first reconnected at the bar because their chemistry was HOT and it made this such a fun book to read.
Finding Dandelion
by Lex Martin
When soccer all-star Jax Avery collides with Dani Hart on his twenty-first birthday, their connection is instantaneous.
For the first time in years, Jax isn’t interested in his usual hit-it and quit-it approach. But Dani knows better. Allowing herself a night to be carefree and feel the intensity of their attraction won’t change anything when it comes to dealing with a player.
So when Jax doesn’t recognize Dani the next time he sees her, it shouldn’t be a total shock. The fact that he’s her new roommate’s brother? That’s a shock.
Dani doesn’t regret that night with Jax, just the need to lie about it. Since her roommate has made it clear what she thinks about her brother’s “type” of girl, the last thing Dani wants is to admit what happened.
Jax knows he’s walking a fine line on the soccer team. One more misstep and he’s off the roster, his plans to go pro be damned. Except he can’t seem to care. About anything… except for the one girl who keeps invading his dreams.
Despite Jax’s fuzzy memory of his hot hookup with his sister’s friend, he can’t stay away from her, even if that means breaking his own rules. But there are bigger forces at work-realities that can end Dani’s college career and lies that can tear them apart.
Jax realizes what he’s losing if Dani walks away, but will he sacrifice his future to be with her? And will she let him if he does?
I’m not sure how I’d react either if I hooked up with my roommate’s twin brother and he didn’t acknowledge or recognize me after! Yikes!
A little forced proximity helps jog Jax memory, but there is a fair share of over-the-top drama in this best friend’s brother romance.
From Lukov With Love
by Mariana Zapata
If someone were to ask Jasmine Santos to describe the last few years of her life with a single word, it would definitely be a four-letter one.
After seventeen years—and countless broken bones and broken promises—she knows her window to compete in figure skating is coming to a close.
But when the offer of a lifetime comes in from an arrogant idiot she’s spent the last decade dreaming about pushing in the way of a moving bus, Jasmine might have to reconsider everything.Including Ivan Lukov.
I’d pick this book up just because it reminds me of one of my favorite romance movies, The Cutting Edge. Gah, how I watched and rewatched that as a teen and I hope the same angst and competition comes out between Jasmine and Ivan.
Jasmine Santos and Ivan Lukov however are NOT friends even though Jasmine is best friend’s with Ivan’s sister.
Since Zapata loves to put the slow in slow burn, you can bet that these two eventually move from hate to love while competing together on the ice!
Fake Out
by Eden Finley
When the pressure to marry his childhood sweetheart became too much, Maddox told her he was gay and then fled to New York.
Now, five years later and after a drunken encounter, he finds himself invited to her wedding. And he has to bring his boyfriend—the boyfriend who doesn’t exist because he’s straight.
Yet, meeting the guy he’s bribing to be his boyfriend for the weekend makes him question everything about himself.
Damon has no choice but to agree to a fake date because he needs Maddox’s help in return.
Forty-eight hours with his sister’s best friend in exchange for a meeting with a possible client shouldn’t be too hard. If only Maddox wasn’t so hot and if he didn’t kiss me.
I love the premise of this best friend’s brother’s book where a guy has to follow-through on his fake statement that he’s gay and bring his “boyfriend” to his ex’s wedding.
Luckily Maddox is able to get his best friend Stacy’s brother to put up the ruse showing him that he may not be a straight has he thought he was.
This book is the best of three worlds also adding in a fake relationship story line with a hot gay romance and I’m totally down for it.
Second to None
by K.A. Linde
Maddox Nelson is the only boy I’ve ever loved. And the only one to break my heart.
I thought I was over that long ago. After drowning the heartbreak in two failed marriages, I should want safe and easy, and Maddox is nothing but complicated.
Now that I’m back home in Savannah, I can’t deny the pull toward him. He’s the grumpy to my sunshine, the introvert to my extrovert, the uncompromising to my go with the flow. But years of friendship, love, and tangled lust binds us together in the city where it all began.
When heat flies between us, he makes it clear that we already had our chance. Both of us should move on. Except I’m no longer okay with that idea. I’ll prove to him that I come second to none.
This is another best friend’s brother book that pulls in so many other great tropes including second chance romance and the grumpy sunshine trope.
Maddox and Josie have liked each other since high school but they could never make things work, including the complication of Josie’s friendship with Maddox’s twin sister. Get ready for the ups and downs of a complicated relationship that spans years but never let go.
Falling for Your Best Friend’s Twin
by Emma St. Clair
For years, I’ve successfully hidden my crush on Zane–my best friend’s ultra grumpy, ultra hot twin brother.
But now that he’s hired me to fix a tech glitch for his startup, I’m having trouble keeping the feels under wraps.
I should just keep my head down and do my job like a good employee. I should NOT go on the investor’s weekend that will keep me up close and personal with Zane. Like … couple’s massage kind of personal.
I’ve got a lot on the line: my friendship, my job, and my stupid little heart that just won’t stop beating for him. But I’ve never met a risk I didn’t like to face head on. Here goes nothing! (Or, maybe, here goes everything…)
This is a quick romcom featuring another best friend’s brother book where the heroine falls for her friend’s twin!
I love that she’s the one providing the tech support and that a bit of forced proximity finally tips the scales in her favor.
This is Reckless
by Kennedy Fox
He has no idea the effect he has on women, especially me—his little sister’s best friend. I’m the blonde Southern belle who lives up to the cliché, except I have my own quirks though he doesn’t see them.
It’d be easier to forget him if he wasn’t my roommate and if the first thing I saw in the morning wasn’t his shirtless body covered in tattoos. I’ve crushed on him since the day we met, but he’s made it perfectly clear where we stand—just friends.
I know I need to move on and accept that his feelings will never be mutual, but every day he smiles at me, I’m left dreaming of what if.
He has girl issues, and I’ve got a crush I can’t deny. We’re friends, but I want more. One drunken hookup leaves us with much more than a platonic friendship. Pretending it never happened proves to be more difficult than anticipated.
I won’t be a pawn in his game, but I’ll play by his rules if it will show him I’m the one worth breaking them for.
I’m not hard to please as this best friend’s brother book had me at tattooed hero 😊. I like that Drew and Courtney are also close friends before coming more, just as Courtney is with his sister Viola. But beware that this book is part of a duet so it ends on a cliffhanger!
Not That Kind of Ever After
by Luci Adams
Bella Marble’s life isn’t what she imagined. Instead of an author, she’s receptionist at a small press. Instead of happily married, she’s single, and her lovey-dovey parents are divorcing.
And to top it off, her best friend of twenty-nine years, Ellie Mathews, is moving out and marrying the heinously boring Mark. Bella feels rudderless, only slightly soothed by time spent with Ellie’s (not hot) brother, Marty (okay, he’s hot. But he’s also the aggravating brother she never had—right)?
When Marty recommends Bella stop looking for “the one” and just have fun, Bella finds a new, empowered side of herself.
But when she posts a fairy-tale retelling of a disastrous one night stand on a storytelling app, all of a sudden, Bella has become @B.Enchanted. And she’s gone viral.
Now, Bella’s in a fight with Ellie, her new roommates are so, deeply, weird, and the pressure is mounting to find new fairy tales to write about—but she’s got to live them first.
This book sounds so adorable, funny and insanely fun, plus I love that it features a wannabe author.
I can’t wait to see how Ellie’s life changes when she decides to let go and have fun which hopefully involves some steamy times with her best friend’s brother Marty!
Best of Intentions
by L.K. Farlow
Nate Reynolds is everything I shouldn’t want. Aside from being my best friend’s older brother, he’s a cocky, smooth-talking, panty-dropping playboy of a cop. And yet, I’m helplessly drawn to him.
His charm and good looks reduce me to a fumbling, mumbling teenaged version of myself, which pretty much guarantees that nothing will ever come of my silly crush.
Until the night of my best friend’s wedding.
Jenny Jones is the definition of innocence. She’s also my little sister’s best friend, making her completely off limits. She’s a forever kind of girl with hearts in her eyes, where I’ve always been more of a love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy.
Until a night spent between the sheets with her has me questioning everything I thought I wanted. I tried my hardest to stay away, but you know what they say about the best intentions.
Oh yes! I love when a wedding is the catalyst for a steamy romance – especially between a woman and her unrequited crush.
Nate may not do relationships but I have a feeling he will soon be changing his tune now that he’s seeing Jenny in a whole new light!
