My Twisted Hate Review:
Calling all fans of enemies to lovers books, you’re going to want to read this popular romance from Ana Huong!
Twisted Hate is one of those books where you can just feel the animosity between characters and know that once they take things in a new direction, it’s going to be H-O-T hot to see those feelings collide in more ways than one.
Jules Ambrose is best friends with Josh Chen’s sister Ava. She’s a bit of a wild child and Josh never liked her influence on Ava. Overhearing his dislike of her soon after meeting each other, leads to years of the two hating one another and not being afraid of showing that animosity.
But when Jules starts working at the office where Josh volunteers and they find themselves in a forced proximity situation one weekend away, the tide starts to turn between these two enemies and kicks off a frenemies with benefits relationship.
My favorite thing about this enemies to lovers book was the amazing chemistry between Jules and Josh.
Twisted Hate is definitely one steamy romance because these two just go there, using their hate and antagonism towards one another as fuel for their pleasure.
If there’s ever a reason to read Twisted Hate, it’s for these spicy and intimate moments between Jules and Josh.
Josh is not just a hot doctor, but also one dirty talking alpha male. Holy smokes can this guy turn up the heat in the bedroom.
I also loved that he was a protective brother and that he was also intuitive enough to see past Jules’ walls.
Jules surprised me as a character. I loved how Huang didn’t write her as this meek female, but as a strong heroine who didn’t let her past mistakes dictate her future. She was a law school student with goals and a dedicated friend.
Her past was definitely an interesting twist I didn’t see coming but I liked that she wasn’t this goody-two-shoes kind of girl.
Is Twisted Hate a Standalone Book?
I had only read Twisted Games in the Twisted Love series before reading Twisted Hate.
I did not read the first book in the series, Twisted Love, which features Josh’s sister Ava and her love story with Alex.
Both of those characters are definitely in this book, but I didn’t feel like I was missing anything by skipping that book. I’ll definitely be circling back to it, however as I love brother’s best friend romance books!
So if you heard about Twisted Hate either on #Booktok or from the 2022 Goodreads Choice Awards (it was a nominee for Best Romance!), you can easily just jump in and read it as a standalone romance.
Basically, if you’re a fan of enemies to lovers books then this is a must-read. But you’ll also want to read Twisted Hate not only for the amazing characters, but it’s great writing and interesting back stories for both Jules and Josh.
You won’t be disappointed with Twisted Hate or the entire Twisted Love series.

I’ve really enjoyed this series too. Ana Huang is awesome at creating sexual tension. The books are well worth it for that alone.
