Midfielder Maclay “Mac” Logan is a loud-mouthed, tattooed ginger content with focusing on football. But when his adorably-freckled best friend shares that she’s never been intimate with a man during a game of Never Have I Ever, Mac offers to play Love Coach for Freya.
I never tire of the humor and banter that Amy Daws delivers in each and every one of her romcom books, but Blindsided is definitely one of my favorites.
It’s no wonder that her Scottish hunk drove this book back to the top of the bestselling charts once his prowess became known on #Booktok!

It Happened One Summer
by Tessa Bailey
Piper Bellinger may be a fashionable influencer, but when her wild-child reputation goes a bit too far and lands her in the slammer, her stepfather cuts her off.
Hoping to teach her a lesson, he sends her off to Washington to run her late father’s dive bar where she meets a big surly sea captain who instantly knows she doesn’t belong in their small town.
Brendan figures Piper won’t last a week outside of Beverly Hills even if there is an undeniable attraction between the two opposites. Piper is determined to prove everyone wrong and can’t risk any distractions, including the feelings she’s beginning to have for the sailor.
I absolutely adored this romcom book from Bailey that just had me smiling the entire time. I honestly thought I’d be rolling my eyes at Piper (right along with Brendan) but I instantly fell in love with her.
She was just so loveable that’s it no wonder the whole town fell for her as well. Bailey said that she based Tessa on Alexis from Schitt’s Creek so if you’re a fan of that character and the show, you’ll definitely love this romantic comedy. Check out my book review of It Happened One Summer.

Natural Born Charmer
by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
Chicago Stars quarterback Dean Robillard is the luckiest man in the world: a bona-fide sports superstar and the pride of the NFL with a profitable side career as a buff billboard model for End Zone underwear.
But life in the glory lane has started to pale, and Dean has set off on a cross-country trip to figure out what’s gone wrong. He just never expected to come across a young woman dressed in a beaver suit.
Blue needs a ride, and soon finds herself picked up by America’s hottest football star and headed to his summer home. As the summer progresses, the wandering portrait artist and the charming football star play a high-stakes game, fighting themselves and each other for a chance to have it all.
I remember picking up my first Susan Elizabeth Phillips book because I read an article where Diana Gabaldon said that Phillips wrote the funniest romance books ever. Boy was she right.
I loved everything about Natural Born Charmer and then had to circle back to read the entire Chicago Stars series to get even more laughs in her epic sports romance series.
This book not only had a wonderful love story, but it had some amazing side characters as well that you’ll fall for equally as hard.

Group Therapy
by BB Easton
I am so close to finally becoming a full-fledged psychologist, but my supervisor is holding out on my letter of recommendation. I’m tasked with curing our most-prized client’s writer’s block in time for him to meet his insane deadline.
Only said client just so happens to be Thomas O’Reardon, the wickedly brilliant, achingly beautiful, devastatingly British best-selling author I may have a slight crush on.
So, when Thomas casually asks me out at the end of a therapy session, I’m forced to make an impossible choice: say yes and risk losing my dream job, or say no and risk losing my dream guy. In a panic, I blurt out a third option—group therapy.
OMG this book! This romantic comedy had me howling out loud in laughter. What else would I expect from the woman whose fictionalized memoir was just as hilarious, moving, and impossible to put down?
The best part of this romcom book was Lou’s recounting of her various individual therapy sessions and then of course the group therapy sessions that went off the rails.
I highly recommend this one! Check out my book review of Group Therapy.
The Lineup
by Meghan Quinn
Dottie just donated a huge amount of money to my charity — The Lineup — to win a date with me but I know the truth. She’s secretly had a crush on me and now I know just want to do with that knowledge.
Jason Orson is hands down one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends because he’s just amazing and so freakin’ funny. His witty banter and one-liners had me in stitches as this man does not hold anything back.
It’s hard to pick a favorite when it comes to Quinn’s books but this is definitely one of my favorite romcom books of hers! Check out my book review of The Lineup.

by Kate Stewart
Theodore Housman may be a former band geek but he’s now a marching band rock star and found the girl of his dreams. No way is he going to let his star football player roommate steal her away or let him underestimate the guy on the right.
This romcom book had me laughing out loud with its many hilarious moments, but it also had me sighing from Theo’s sweet romantic gestures and fanning myself from their hot moments together. Stewart wrecked me with this friends to lovers story that I could not put down! Check out my book review of the Guy on the Right.

Dirty
by Kylie Scott
The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken-hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that come with her.
Lydia Green is not having a great day. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it’s with his best man is another thing all together. Just when this runaway bride has nowhere left to turn, a handsome stranger offers her a broad, muscular shoulder to cry on.
Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessmen she’s normally drawn to. But Lydia’s already tried Mr. Right and discovered he’s all wrong–maybe it’s time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.
I still remember finishing this book and then immediately cataloging it as “hilarious” in my book journal because that is exactly what it is. Everything that came out of Lydia’s mouth was absolutely hilarious.
She had absolutely no filter, but why would she after running out on her own wedding and crashing into a stranger’s bathroom while still in her wedding gown? I adored this book and you will too.

Pucked
by Helena Hunting
With a famous NHL player for a stepbrother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation of many a hockey star. So she isn’t interested in legendary team captain Alex Waters or his pretty, beat-up face and rock-hard six-pack abs.
When Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet’s misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes much more than just a hot body with the face to match. Suddenly, he’s too difficult to ignore, and nearly impossible not to like. The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn’t want to be part of the game.
I think you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who’s read this romcom book and didn’t find Violet over-the-top funny. I would love to find Hunting’s muse for this character because Violet always says what’s on her mind and seriously has no filter (especially when it comes to talking about Alex’s um…stick).
The things this woman does and says are hilarious, making this one of the best romcom books worth reading. You won’t be disappointed.

A Very Friendly Valentine’s Day
by Kailey Loring
Birdie doesn’t like to fly, so when she has to take a trip from LA to New York City, she books a cross-country train trip. Trouble is, when her best friend Eddie decides to join her, the only thing left is ONE sleeper car.
Gosh was this book so sweet AND funny. Loring has made me a fan for life with her Very Holiday series of books which are the ultimate romcom books.
Birdie is the cutest “nerd” forced into very tight quarters with her best friend who supposedly has a girlfriend he’s never met. I love when it becomes quite apparent to both Birdie and Eddie that their feelings may be more than friendly toward one another.
Eddie is such a goof but a really sweet and adoring goof who you will completely fall for in this romantic comedy book!

Sweet Spot
by Stella Rhys
Our first meeting as neighbors was screwed from the start. He was hot. I was naked. And we had no chance in hell at ever being platonic. I’ll be the first to admit that I live at extremes. After going ten years locked in what felt like a dysfunctional marriage, I’m now decidedly boy-free. Until he came along.
Lukas Hendricks is everything I know to avoid but there’s no avoiding your next-door neighbor.
Neighbor shenanigans definitely made this one of the most fun romcom books I’ve read. Plus, it totally got me hooked on Rhys’ Irresistible series which is AMAZING!
I loved when these two started getting it on. Of course, there are going to be some hot moments up against a door or wall when two neighbors start canoodling and that is so true with this one.
To Hate Adam Connor
by Ella Maise
Adam Connor is the recently divorced, Academy Award-winning actor who just moved in next door with his kid. Who can blame me for taking a peek over the wall to catch a glimpse of him? But the bastard has me thrown in jail after accidentally falling over and since then I’ve been plotting ways to strangle him instead of jumping his bones.
This romantic comedy book was hilarious from the first moment Lucy’s curiosity gets the better of her. I honestly can’t blame her because Adam is just too hot for words but that oops moment set off an enemies to lovers book with sparks!
Plus, so many great romcom books have adorable, cute kids in them as does this one. I only wish I had Adam whispering sweet nothings in my ear – wow that man!

Sticking to the Script
by Stella Weaver
Steven Thompson had a bad year. A string of mean and crazy dating debacles has increased his stress levels so much he’s decided to quit dating and focus instead solely on his job. Until he meets Dr. Ken Miles.
Doctor Ken Miles is having a fantastic year. His hard work is paying off in a big way professionally. But his social life? Not so much. Until he meets Steven Thompson. Steven isn’t so sure about Dr. Miles, but Ken is one hundred percent certain about Mr. Thompson.
And even though both men know full well that the key to getting what you want out of life is hard work, they can’t seem to make them—together—work. Will they ever get on the same page? Or just keep sticking to the same old script?
OMG, could I love any two characters who are complete opposites more? I’m not sure because Steven and Dr. Ken Miles are heavenly in this romantic comedy.
Poor Steven’s dating experience alone is laugh-out-loud crazy, the poor guy, which is why I was rooting for him and Ken to get their hearts aligned once and for all.
Read this one for Steven since he’s adorable and trying SO hard, but Ken will definitely creep up on you as a keeper as well. One of the best Smartypants romcom books worth reading in my opinion! Check out my book review of Sticking to the Script.

Done with being the world’s biggest pushover, Haley has finally had enough and it was all thanks to her neighbor from hell. Since the day that he moved in next-door, Jason Bradford had been going out of his way to make her crazy and he’s just gone and pushed her too far.

After taking her under his wing, he can’t help but notice how nicely she fits in his life. Now, the only thing left to do was to convince her that this is anything but a game.
I honestly had no idea upon picking this book up that I would be laughing so hard and set on binge-reading the ENTIRE series from start to finish. Jason is the first of the crazy Bradfords that give a whole new meaning to the word – hungry.
I loved this neighbors to lovers book so much and found it to be really sweet AND hot. I honestly devoured this book and all the romcom books in the series. You’ll love it.
In a New York Minute
by Kate Spencer
Franny Doyle is having the worst day. She’s been laid off from her job, the subway doors ripped her favorite silk dress to ruins, and now she’s flashed her unmentionables to half of lower Manhattan.
On the plus side, a dashing stranger came to her rescue with his suit jacket. Now Franny and her knight-in-couture, Hayes Montgomery III, are the newest social media sensation despite being a disastrous match. Only the more they keep running into each other, the more they like each other’s company.
This is one of those romcom books that you instantly want to reread as soon as you finish reading it. This was the sweetest book, and I was just so happy reading it.
It’s a fantastic, opposites attract, slow burn love story with a hero who is so endearing in his social awkwardness and a girl whose luck has definitely taken a dive as of late.
After the most adorable meet cute, these two just kept running into each other and finding that there was more and more that they liked about each other. I loved it from start to finish and can’t recommend this romantic comedy book enough.

The Charm Offensive
by Alison Cochrun
Dev Deshpande has always believed in fairy tales, which is why he loves working on the reality dating show Ever After. But this season may be his toughest yet, when disgraced tech wunderkind Charlie Winshaw is cast as its star.
Charlie doesn’t believe in true love, and only agreed to the show as a last-ditch effort to rehabilitate his image. In front of the cameras, he’s a stiff, anxious mess with no idea how to date twenty women on national television. Behind the scenes, he’s cold, awkward, and emotionally closed-off.
As Dev fights to get Charlie to connect with the contestants on a whirlwind, worldwide tour, they begin to open up to each other, and Charlie realizes he has better chemistry with Dev than with any of his female co-stars.
But even reality TV has a script, and in order to find to happily ever after, they’ll have to reconsider whose love story gets told.
I’m swoony just thinking about this book and its characters. I found it impossible not to love Charlie and Dev – two wonderfully diverse characters who felt so real in their fake world of reality TV.
While I found their relationship development to be the best slow burn romance, this romcom book comes with its own share of reality TV craziness you’d come to expect from that type of entertainment. Check out my book review of The Charm Offensive.

People We Meet on Vacation
by Emily Henry
Alex and Poppy have been the best of friends ever since a fateful car share home from college many years ago. Despite being complete opposites and living far apart, every summer they have vacationed for a week together until two years ago when things were ruined.
Not having spoken since, Poppy realizes she needs to fix things and asks Alex to take one more vacation with her so that they can lay everything out on the table and make it right.
This romcom book instantly became one of my favorite romance books. It’s one of those books you want to read even faster to get to the end and yet you want to slow down so that you can enjoy it longer.
Alex and Poppy are complete opposites which is apparent from all the summer trips that they take. I loved the flashbacks recounting all of their adventures that they take around the globe. Emily Henry is a talented romcom writer who I can’t recommend enough.

To her utter mortification, Quinn Sullivan—aka Sir McHotpants—witnesses it all then keeps turning up like a pair of shoes you lust after but can’t afford. The last thing she expects is for Quinn to make her an offer she can’t refuse.
It’s hard to believe that this was Penny Reid’s debut novel because it is just the best romcom book ever and made me a Reid fan for life.
Between Janie’s crazy trivia references and Quinn’s grumpiness and protectiveness, this was one of the greatest opposites attract romances. Janie and her girls will hook you right in before you’ll be off reading the entire Knitting in the City series – so worth it!

It was the perfect plan. Enzo needed a wife to inherit the family company and Bianca wanted a baby. Why not draft a business contract to marry each other so they’d both get what they wanted? But even with a no-touching clause, things don’t always go as planned.
Harlow is one of my favorite romance authors and I legit LOVED this book. I was smiling from ear to ear, enjoying the witty back-and-forth banter between Enzo and Bianca.
Talk about fiery Italians with the best chemistry in this enemies to lovers romance with the perfect marriage of convenience storyline. It definitely earned its place as one of the best romcom books worth reading.

Marriage on Madison Avenue
by Lauren Layne
Audrey Tate and Clarke West have been best friends since childhood without a single romantic entanglement.
Clarke is the charming playboy Audrey can always count on, and he knows that the ever-loyal Audrey will never not play along with his strategy for dodging his matchmaking mother. So when he announces that they are already engaged, she can’t help but play along.
But what starts out as a playful game between two best friends turns into something infinitely more complicated, as just-for-show kisses begin to stir up forbidden feelings. As the faux wedding date looms closer, Audrey and Clarke realize that they can never go back to the way things were, but deep down, do they really want to?
Lauren Layne has solidified her place as a go-to romcom romance author and that couldn’t be more evident than with this friends to lovers romance. I love how Audrey is taken completely off-guard reading about her engagement in the society pages and yet jumps in with both feet to help her friend.
Whenever you’re trying to fake feelings, of course moments of hilarity will ensure, especially when you have a mother or two to continually convince. This romantic comedy is one of Layne’s best! Check out my book review of Marriage on Madison Avenue.

Cream of the Crop
by Alice Clayton
Manhattan’s It Girl, Natalie Grayson, has it all: she’s a hot exec at a leading advertising firm, she’s got a large circle of friends, a family that loves her dearly. What else could a modern gal-about-town wish for? The answer, of course, is…cheese.
Natalie’s favorite part of each week is spending Saturday morning at the Union Square Farmer’s Market, where she indulges her love of all things triple cream.
Oscar Mendoza, owner of the Bailey Falls Creamery and purveyor of the finest artisanal, is tall, dark, mysterious, and a bit oblivious to Natalie’s obsession. Or so she thinks. Romance is churning, passion is burning, and something incredible is rising to the top. Could it be…love?
Words cannot convey how much I loved this book and these characters. Oscar is the silent, alpha male that I adore and the complete opposite to Natalie’s feistiness. Honestly, this book had me at goat cheese because it’s AMAZING, but its hilarity and swoon-worthy moments had me loving each and every scene (especially that one in the barn – super HOT!).

Fans of The Hating Game will love this office romance given that this book pits two office colleagues against one another for the same promotion.
This romcom book had me ready to pack my bags and head to the Galapagos Islands because I felt like I was right there along with them in their fun adventures. While this started as an enemies to lovers romance, it quickly morphed into a sweet slow burn that I really enjoyed.

Pride and Papercuts
by Staci Hart
Liam Darcy opposes me at every turn but I can light him up with my words since he can’t fire me because I work for his client. I loathe Liam Darcy, but I just might stumble over the line between love and hate. Laney is devoted to her job and she’s not about to let someone talk down to her even if he technically works for her boss – even if his name is Darcy.
Laney Bennett and Liam Darcy are like oil and water and don’t hold back when it comes to expressing how they really feel about each other. Loathe may be a strong word, but then again there really is a thin line between love and hate.
Of course a modern, Pride and Prejudice retelling is going to make the list of best romcom books! Hart did such a great job pulling in all the parts of Austen’s book that I loved and putting her own spin on it in this office romance. If you’re an Austen fan like me, this is one romantic comedy book you can’t miss. Check out my book review of Pride and Papercuts.

by Lucy Score
Marley is jobless and broke so she’s moved back home into her parents house, back to the small town she wanted to leave behind. To try and get her life back on track she’s taken a temporary teaching job and is now coach of the girls soccer team.
Having no idea what she’s doing, she agrees to a fake relationship with the former bad boy from her teenage years who will teach her how to coach in exchange for her teaching him how to be in a relationship.
Lucy Score’s books epitomize romcom books in my mind! This was my first and most favorite of hers because I loved everything about it. I could totally identify with Marley who is just trying to find her footing and her place in life. Along for the ride is her hilarious best friend whose bit appearances were so downright funny.
I also loved the girls on her soccer team, the texting hilarity, the catty mean girl from her high school days, and her fake relationship with Jake. It’s the perfect romantic comedy book! My Review.
Something Fabulous
by Alexis Hall
Valentine Layton, the Duke of Malvern is trying to fulfill his father’s wish that he marry Miss Arabella Tarleton. Unfortunately, a marriage of convenience will not do for the romantic and she flees into the night determined never to set eyes on Valentine again.
Despite copious misgivings, Valentine finds himself on a chase to Dover with Arabella’s twin brother, Bonny, by his side. But being with him makes Valentine question everything he thought he knew. About himself. About love. Even about which Tarleton he should be pursuing.
This is definitely one of those romcom books that had me smiling from ear to ear while reading it. While it was a really sweet MM romance, there is definitely a good amount of ridiculousness to the story but that made it all the more endearing.
From Bonnie’s sweetness and overarching joyousness to Arabella’s craziness, not to mention the fun side characters you meet along the way, this was one fun, historical romcom adventure! I highly recommend it.

She’s struggling to make enough bread loaves for the Christmas Eve festival while also trying to get her ex to understand that they are indeed over. Trading lives however proves more complicated than they imagined, especially when rugged firefighter Jake Greenman and gorgeous physician’s assistant Miguel Rodriguez are thrown into the mix.
This romcom book has so much more than just the holiday feels. The story had great pacing with just the right amount of miscommunications, mishaps and shenanigans that would occur when two people switch lives.
I loved the added twists of both sisters falling for a man who think they are falling for the other sister. Check out this romantic comedy book any time of year! Check out my book review of The Holiday Swap.

I seriously love Meghan Quinn’s books so much. They make me laugh, they make me swoon and they can be downright hot. That’s the perfect trifecta for the best romcom books and she always delivers.
Brig Knightly is just the cutest romance hero to grace a page. The man is desperate to find love – only to struggle when he falls for two women at the same time. The Spanish Love Deception
by Elena Armas
Catalina Martin is in a bind. She does NOT want to show up single at her sister’s wedding with her ex in attendance and his new fiancé. Nor does she want to take up her infuriating co-worker’s offer to travel to Spain and be her fake boyfriend. Yet she really has no choice but to put on the charade.
This is the perfect romcom book because it has all of my favorite tropes: enemies to lovers, office romance, and fake relationship, but it was the slow burn that made this one of the best romantic comedies I’ve read recently.
It’s hard to believe this is Armas’ first romance book, but it’s worthy of all the accolades it’s received including best debut novel in the 2021 Goodreads Choice Awards!

Sebastian is the wrestling team captain at Iowa and better known as the douchebag on campus. Studying at the library with his teammates he catches sight of Jameson, a fellow student dressed in a cardigan and pearls. Taking a bet, he approaches her but is soon surprised that she is not the stuffy, studious prude he pegged her for.
Sara Ney is definitely an author that deserves to be on a romcom books list! Her characters are so unique and she pens the best banter. Both of those qualities are evident in her How to Date a Douchebag series.
Sebastian definitely lives up to his douchebag reputation more times than not in this college romance, but it’s also sweet to see how these two apparent opposites grow to care about and fall for each other.

Fight or Flight
by Samantha Young
The universe is conspiring against Ava Breevort. Trying to get back home after a trip from hell, she’s thwarted by an arrogant Scotsman, Caleb Scott, who steals a first-class seat out from under her. Then over the course of their journey home, their antagonism somehow lands them in bed for the steamiest layover Ava’s ever had. And that’s all it was–until Caleb shows up on her doorstep.
When pure chance pulls Ava back into Caleb’s orbit, he proposes they enjoy their physical connection while he’s stranded in Boston. When his stay in Boston becomes permanent, Ava must decide whether to fight her feelings for him or give into them and risk her heart.
This is definitely one of my favorite enemies to lovers romance books and one of my favorite Young books as well. When two people at odds with one another have nothing to lose, there’s nothing to hold them back from being their true selves.
I think that’s what I love most about this romantic comedy novel in that Ava and Caleb just say go all-in with each other figuring there was nothing at stake given the timeline for their “relationship.” But it’s when things become more permanent that they also turned sweet and swoony. I loved it and so will you.

Forever and a Day
by Jill Shalvis
Grace never thought she’d be starting her life over from scratch. Losing everything has landed her in Lucky Harbor, working as a dog walker for overwhelmed ER doctor Josh Scott. But the day his nanny fails to show up, Grace goes from caring for Josh’s lovable mutt to caring for his rambunctious son. Soon Grace is playing house with the hot single dad.
This wouldn’t be a complete romcom books list without a Jill Shalvis title! She was one of the first romance authors whose entire book list I binge-read from start to finish because I loved her romantic comedy novels so much. Forever and a Day is one of my favorites because I feel for both struggling main characters.
Grace is trying to start over and gets into one or two binds while trying to be a dog walker and nanny for which she has zero qualifications for. Josh is just trying to make it through each day as a single dad and busy doctor. It was their screw-ups and mess-ups that made them so endearing and this one of the best romcom books worth reading.

When Gracie Cooper’s father passed away, she put aside her own dreams to take over the family-owned Midtown Manhattan champagne shop. But Gracie has her hands full trying to keep the shop in the blackout and warding off Sebastian Andrews and his big corporate proposal for a buyout.
Not wanting to admit her troubles to friends or family, she turns to “Sir” whom she’s connected with on the blind dating app where matches get to know each other through messages before exchanging real names or photos. Although Gracie finds herself slowly falling for Sir online, she has no idea she’s already met him in real life.
Of course a romcom books list wouldn’t be complete without a book based on a beloved romcom movie! I loved You’ve Got Mail, starring Ryan and Tom Hanks, and fell equally in love with this slow burn romance that was achingly similar in the best ways.
I loved the instant connection between Sir and Lady in their email exchanges because they were so honest and open with one another. But it was the growing connection between Gracie and Sebastian that tugged on my heartstrings making this a terrific romantic comedy novel! My Review.
