In Every Possible Way Summary:
After yet another disastrous date where Jess is too awkward, too earnest, too whatever, sheโs ready to put her romantic daydreams aside. Other than an enchanting Irish accent, her latest date is no prince charming. Then the night goes from bad to worse when sheโs mugged in the parking lot and hits her head. Hard.
Hard enough that when Jess wakes up, sheโs in Ireland.
The first person she meets is Eamonn, a quiet, gruff mechanic. Since Jess is stranded with no passport, cell phone, or way to get home, Eamonn becomes her reluctant knight in shining armor.
Over the next forty-eight hours, they meander through the cobblestone streets of Dublin and explore the Irish countryside, sharing their deepest fears, quiet hopes, and softest aches. Itโs a connection that is as electrifying as it is terrifying, because what if Jess falls asleep and Eamonn vanishes like a dream? But a love like thisโtouched by magic and a little bit of luckโis never quite as it seems.
In Every Possible Way: My Review
This book is for those who love contemporary romance with a sprinkle of magic that will make even those down on their luck and hardened to the dating world like Jess believe that a once in a lifetime love is out there.
I feel like this book hit me at just the right time. A weekend when I was ready to sink into a beautiful romance that wasnโt full of angst or mega world building or heavy topics to sift through but one that was just a sweet romance that makes you remember that falling in love really is a bit magical.
Alicia starts the book off strong with a disastrous first date. Jess met Niall for a date on her birthday no less and he was such a complete tool. I could completely understand why she was ready to throw in the towel on dating and love after that night and what had been several attempts at finding love. And then to get mugged and black outโฆyeah, not a great birthday.
But then the magic hits and the rest of the book sweeps you (and Jess) into the landscape of Ireland and the streets of Dublin with a hero that you canโt help but fall for.
I personally would have freaked the F out if I all of a sudden found myself in a different country without a phone, passport or any money (and no one at home answering their phones!) but Jess is calm and luckily finds herself with Eamonn stepping in to help the mysterious woman who shows up at his garage.
This book totally gave me Before Sunrise vibes if youโve ever watched that movie with Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. You are just along for the ride as Jess and Eamonn spend 48 hours together, first exploring Dublin and then traveling across Ireland seeing the sights and slowly learning more about each other in the process.
As someone who has been to Dublin, I felt like I was reliving my trip, visiting some famous tourist sites with Jess and Eamonn so I enjoyed this aspect of the book though others may find it a bit slow at times but I just went along for the ride.
Iโm so impressed how Alicia was able to have them share enough about their pasts and life outlooks to make it realistic that they would fall for each other so quickly without it feeling inauthentic or just one big feeling dump.
Eamonn is such a wonderful hero who knew something wasnโt quite right about this woman just showing up with nothing but he wanted to help and protect her. There is one particular part of the story where he shows up and it just melted my heart how kind this man was. Plus, he has some really hot moments that worked perfectly with the story as well.
Of course, the entire time youโre reading this youโre wondering how itโs all going to work out in the end and I was pleasantly surprised to feel like it wrapped up perfectly with a sweet happily ever after.
If youโre looking for a wonderful romance to just sink into this summer that will give you the perfect staycation of feeling like youโre in Ireland, I recommend this one!
