Branded: My Review

OMG, I had no idea how much I would love this book. Branded has definitely landed on my best romance books of 2025 list, and now I need books for Arsen’s brothers and Rad!!

I’ve been devouring cowboy romance books, but this one was brought such a steamy, darker and unique spin to this category of romance that I did not know I needed in my life.

Since this is fiction, I can get over the idiocy of a college student writing to a convict in prison, sharing her name in the very first letter. It doesn’t matter that she was posing as someone else but WHO DOES THAT? And the whole idea of falling in love with someone who kidnaps you and forces you into marriage, again how could you let that happen but I ATE IT UP!

The best part was how Saffron made Arsen someone who was slightly dangerous, standoffish and a bit unhinged when in the next moment he would be so utterly romantic. I loved his dichotomy.

On face value, you wouldn’t think an ex-con who was in prison for attempted murder for eight years would be so caring and head over heels for a young, innocent college virgin but he was despite fighting those feelings tooth and nail.

I loved that Reverie was this innocent girl who hid from the world given her past and her beliefs about her body but grew into someone who could use her voice, trust her feelings and stand up for what she wanted.

Arsen was such a great hero. A person who had revenge on the mind and yet would do anything for “his wife.” Gosh, the way he kept claiming her with those words was HOT and the way that he “broke” her in was just as hot throughout the story. You will love him if you adore heroes with a “touch her and die” complex.

The back and forth between the present and the past to see the letters that they wrote to one another kept you hooked on the story while also developing their relationship for one another. It also brings in a bit of family rivalry but without the unnecessary drama that could detract from the central love story which I appreciated.

I honestly enjoyed this story so much and cannot wait for more in the series.

If you’re looking for a steamy, forbidden romance with a hint of danger but with total consent I highly recommend this romance.
