Dom-Com Summary:
An irresistible collision of dominance, deadlines, and an extremely inconvenient desire.
All Rae Jensen has to do is walk through the door. Inside the club is everything sheโs wanted but was afraid to ask for: a ridiculously hot, brooding Dom with a sharp jawline, sexy forearms, and a low voice that sends goosebumps along her skin when he says โPeople here call me the General.โ For one night, she can forget the stress and her endless responsibilities . . . and just be a saucy little sub, no questions asked.
Itโs been a while since Grant Bowman met someone like Rae. Although heโs an experienced Dom, he doesnโt do newbies, especially ones who are such a sweet distraction. But one night couldnโt possibly hurtโuntil the General discovers theyโll be working together IRL at his new consulting job. Now what started as control is turning into the kind of chaos that destroys careers. But thereโs no safe word for falling in loveโฆ
Dom-Com: My Book Review
This book made my list of top 10 most anticipated new romance books of January because I had read one of Adrianaโs books about a kink camp so was curious how she would explore BDSM in this new release and overall it was enjoyable.
Grant was a โniceโ pleasure Dom who started playing with Rae when the forced proximity of working in the same office became too great a temptation. BDSM books can be hit or miss for me, but what I liked about this one was that it wasnโt too hardcore since Rae was a newbie sub. Plus, the fact that their interactions werenโt in a $ex club made it seem more realistic in a way.
My only hang up was that Grant just sort of decided that they would start getting kinky in the office and didnโt really ask Rae beforehand which seemed out of character. I would have also liked for him to explain more to her since she was a new sub or do more from her โlistโ since it was referred to several times. Plus, other than them sharing an office, there wasnโt too much opportunity for them to really get to know one another but then again, sometimes those types of romances just work and I went with it.
I did like how Grant got Rae to see how she was a โpeople pleaserโ to her own detriment and the corporate espionage story in the background was intriguing.
If you like BDSM light books with office romance tension then I think youโll enjoy this read!
