Best Mafia Romance Books
There’s something about a great mafia romance that keeps me turning pages long past my bedtime. Maybe it’s the larger-than-life alpha heroes, the impossible situations, or the way danger only seems to heighten the chemistry between two characters who were never supposed to fall in love.
While the mafia world provides the backdrop, the books I love most never let it overshadow the romance. Whether it’s an arranged marriage, forbidden attraction, or a hero who would burn down the world for the woman he loves, these are the mafia romance books I genuinely think are worth your time.

The Best Mafia Romance Books to Read Right Now

The Sweetest Oblivion
by Danielle Lori
Forbidden Romance • Arranged Marriage • Slow Burn
This was the mafia romance that completely hooked me on Danielle Lori’s Made series. I devoured it in a day and immediately reached for the next book because I couldn’t get enough of her writing.
The premise is deliciously forbidden. Nicolas is supposed to marry Elena’s younger sister as part of an arranged mafia marriage, yet it’s Elena he can’t stop thinking about. That impossible attraction fuels one of the best slow burns I’ve read, with every interaction between them building the tension until it finally reaches its breaking point.
What makes this romance stand out is that the mafia world never overshadows the relationship. Nico may appear calm, controlled, and completely unshakable, but seeing just how deeply he burns for Elena through his dual POV made their romance impossible to put down. If you’re looking for a mafia romance that’s more about incredible chemistry than nonstop violence, start here.

Carnal Urges
by J.T. Geissinger
Kidnapping Romance • Opposites Attract • Light BDSM
Some mafia romances are all about power plays and family politics. This one is almost entirely about the chemistry between two unforgettable characters, and honestly, I didn’t mind one bit.
Declan kidnaps Sloane expecting one thing and instead gets a heroine who refuses to be intimidated by him. Their constant banter, push-and-pull dynamic, and undeniable attraction make every scene together entertaining long before the romance finally ignites.
Declan completely stole my heart with his Irish brogue, commanding presence, and surprisingly high emotional intelligence. He may be an alpha through and through, but he also knows exactly how to cherish Sloane while giving her the space to be every bit as bold and sassy as she wants to be. If you’re looking for a mafia romance that’s driven almost entirely by character chemistry with a touch of BDSM, this one absolutely delivers.

Brutal Vows
by J.T. Geissinger
Arranged Marriage • Irish Mafia • Mafia Boss Heroine
You know a romance is special when you finish the last page and immediately want to turn back to the beginning. That’s exactly how I felt after reading Brutal Vows.
Spider, a loyal member of the Irish mafia, agrees to an arranged marriage meant to unite two powerful crime families. The problem? The woman he can’t stop thinking about is Reyna, the aunt of the bride he’s actually supposed to marry. That impossible attraction gives this arranged marriage romance a unique twist while creating incredible chemistry from the very beginning.
Spider is still one of my favorite mafia heroes because beneath all his strength and loyalty is an unapologetic romantic. What I loved most was watching him and Reyna get to know each other beyond the roles they’d been forced into within their mafia families. Their honesty, conversations, and growing intimacy made it easy to believe they were falling in love, which is exactly why this became an instant five-star read for me.

Ember
by Naima Simone
Enemies to Lovers • Cinderella Retelling • Dark Romance
This is unlike any mafia romance I’ve read. Naima Simone takes the bones of Cinderella and twists them into a completely unhinged love story between two morally gray step-siblings who can’t decide whether they want to slit each other’s throats or tear each other’s clothes off.
After the head of a powerful crime family who hid behind the façade of a luxury fashion house is gone, Asad is left running the family organization and demands that Ember marry him, binding her to the very man who’s spent years tormenting her. Their relationship is fueled by obsession, power plays, sharp banter, and chemistry that practically crackles off the page.
What I loved most is that neither character is remotely innocent. They both embrace the darkness of the world they were raised in, but beneath all the obsession and power struggles is a hero who’s been protecting the woman he’s loved all along. If you want the darkest, most unhinged romance on this list, this one is unlike anything else you’ll read.

The Kiss Thief
by L.J. Shen
Arranged Marriage • Revenge Romance • Age Gap
This mafia romance had me hooked from the very beginning because it combines an arranged marriage with revenge, forbidden love, and one of my favorite slow burns.
Francesca is the daughter of the head of the Chicago Outfit whose future is turned upside down when she’s forced into marriage with Senator Wolfe Keaton, a man determined to use her as part of his revenge against her father. Their relationship begins as a battle of wills, but watching Wolfe slowly realize he underestimated Francesca makes every step toward their romance feel earned.
The slow burn is what really makes this one stand out. Add in the revenge angle, age gap, and a heroine who refuses to be controlled, and it’s easy to see why this remains one of my favorite mafia romances.

Wicked Pursuit
by Katee Robert
Stalker Romance • Little Red Riding Hood Retelling • Dark Romance
If you’re looking for a traditional mafia romance, this probably isn’t it. But if you want a dark, incredibly steamy romance with mafia ties and plenty of kink, it’s a fun one-sitting read.
Ruby may be a mob princess, but this story is much more focused on the mystery surrounding her stalker and the dangerous attraction growing between them than on organized crime itself. The pacing is fast, the chemistry is immediate, and the story keeps you wondering exactly where everything is headed.
This is the book I’d recommend if you’re in the mood for possessive heroes, primal play, voyeurism, and a heroine who’s more than willing to embrace her darker side.

Bound by Honor
by Cora Reilly
Marriage of Convenience • Arranged Marriage • Italian Mafia
If you’re looking for a classic mafia romance, this is still one of the books I’d recommend starting with.
Aria and Luca’s arranged marriage is meant to unite two mafia families against a common enemy, but the story spends much more time exploring their relationship than the politics surrounding them. Watching two strangers slowly navigate marriage together makes this feel much more intimate than many mafia romances.
I especially liked that Luca never stopped feeling like the alpha hero he’d been raised to become, yet he still revealed glimpses of a softer side as his relationship with Aria developed. Just know that this one won’t work for everyone, particularly if you dislike weaker heroines or heroes who have relationships with other women after the marriage.
