Sarina Bowen writes the best hockey romance books and she scores yet again with Shenanigans!
Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly fall for another hockey duo, she gives me Neal and Charli – swoon.
I love Bowen’s Bruisers hockey romance series, but let me tell you, I’m loving these Bombshell women and this crossover series that gives all the shenanigans between Bruisers and Bombshells.
I absolutely fell for Charli and Neal in Bombshells which was why I could not wait to get my hands on their story in Shenanigans. The fact that it was an “oops, we got married” romance just made it all the more fun and honestly really sweet.
The book kicks off with Charli, a member of the Brooklyn Bombshells, and Neal, a member of the Brooklyn Bruisers, both waking up in the same bed in Vegas, slightly dishelved and mostly hung over…oh and with a marriage certificate.
For two people who didn’t start off on the best of terms – do NOT call Charli “doll”- they actually roll with the punches after this realization that they’re hitched.
A divorce is of utmost importance and yet this reckless, drunken decision finally puts them on course to realize and confront the feelings that have always been brewing between the two.
I honestly fell in love with these two from the very beginning. Bowen just wrote two completely amazing characters who had the best banter back and forth and yet also some really endearing qualities that they only shared with each other.
Charli is a woman who’s had to build up walls to protect herself. She’s always had to look out for herself so it’s a bit unnerving for her and a bit unbelievable to have this billionaire, nice guy actually do the same.
Neal has had it easy in a way growing up with gobs of money, but his type 1 diabetes puts life in perspective for him where he doesn’t take anything for granted.
This man was the perfect book boyfriend and “real husband” to Charli.
He always put her needs and feelings first without any pressure or ulterior motives. He was also just so cute, funny and super hot in the bedroom. If Charli wasn’t going to keep him, I would!
This book was just a joy to read from the great writing, to the great character development and engaging story. It’s definitely one of my most favorite of these two series and one of my most favorite couples!
I highly recommend it.
