What are the Heartstopper Books About?
Heartstopper is a young adult romance graphic novel series that follows the friendship between high schoolers Nick and Charlie that develops into something more.
Who Wrote the Heartstopper Books?
Alice Oseman is the author/illustrator of the Heartstopper books.
Originally, Oseman published Heartstopper as a webcomic on Tumblr and Tapas but its growing success caught the eye of Hachette Children’s Group who later published the print series.
Oseman’s story about how she became a published author is inspiring for she published her first novel, Solitaire, when she was nineteen.

Is There a Related Heartstopper Series?
Before Heartstopper, Oseman wrote several standalone novels about different characters, including Solitaire.
Oseman states that though the “Heartstopper series and Solitaire feature some of the same characters, and operate within the same universe/timeline…they are very different stories.”
Solitaire is a dark story about mental illness and can be read in any order before or after Heartstopper if you choose to read it though Heartstopper begins a year before Solitaire starts.
Can I Read the Heartstopper Book Online?
Because Heartstopper was originally a web comic, you can still read the first Heartstopper book online on Tumblr or Tapas.

Has Heartstopper Been Made Into a Movie or TV Series?

Season one of Heartstopper was one of the most popular romance books to TV series of 2022, releasing in April 2022 with Alice Oseman as the writer, creator and executive producer.
It stars Joe Locke as Charlie Spring, Kit Connor as Nick Nelson and Oliva Colman as Sarah Nelson, Nick’s mother.
Due to its huge success, Netflix renewed the Heartstopper TV series for seasons two and three.
Filming for Heartstopper season two wrapped up on December 2, 2022, though there is no word yet on its release date.
I imagine we can expect it to be included in one of the romance books to TV series releasing in 2023.
Given that there are soon to be five books in the series, I’m sure we will see seasons four and possibly five of the TV show to finish off the book series as well.
