I especially love looking at all the new romance book releases that come out in October because I consider them all personal birthday presents too me.
That might be one of the best ways to spend my birthday in a dream world…reading all the best, new romance book releases I can get my hands on. But that’s only if my fantasy of one (or more) of my favorite book boyfriends can’t come to life as a real birthday present. A girl can dream!
October is also the month when we really start to see all of the year’s new Christmas romance books start to flood the shelves.

My Most Anticipated New Romance Book Releases for October 2021
Christmas, Friends to Lovers Romantic Comedy
Nick Winters and Noel Carter have known each other their whole lives. After years of shared family holidays, working together on the Winters’ Christmas tree farm, and being each other’s safe haven, they wouldn’t dream of crossing the line from friends to something more.
But when Nick comes home for the holidays after serving overseas and discovers that his long-term girlfriend has cheated, Noel is there to help him pick up the pieces.
A night on the town and an impulsive kiss later has Noel thinking that perhaps this year they’ll be rockin’ around the Christmas tree as a couple, but only if the ghost – er rather – girlfriend of Nick’s Christmas past doesn’t decide to haunt their holiday.
Even this book blurb has me in such a wonderful holiday mood that I know this romance will be the perfect pick this Christmas season. Of course I expect a great playlist to go along with this friends to lovers romance as well.
For a romance with ex-shenanigans and opportunities to mix friendship with a lot of pleasure, this looks to be a great read for October.
Born shrouded in the veil of the Primals, a Maiden as the Fates promised, Seraphena Mierel’s future has never been hers. Chosen before birth to uphold the desperate deal her ancestor struck to save his people, Sera must leave behind her life and offer herself to the Primal of Death as his Consort.
However, Sera’s real destiny is the most closely guarded secret in all of Lasania—she’s not the well protected Maiden but an assassin with one mission—one target. Make the Primal of Death fall in love, become his weakness, and then…end him. If she fails, she dooms her kingdom to a slow demise at the hands of the Rot.
OMG is it October 19 yet? I cannot wait for this new book set in the Blood and Ash world which I couldn’t get enough of.
Do I wish this was the next Poppy and Casteel book, yes!, but I’ll gladly read about the first Maiden. I have high, high hopes that this new release as the first in the Flesh and Fire series will make my best fantasy romance book list!
Small Town Romance
Diane Donner is craving danger. She’s tired of playing it safe and she knows just the criminal motorcycle man to proposition for a good time. Problem is, she doesn’t actually know his name.
Jason “Repo” Doe never takes risks. So when the queen of local commerce walks into his club, looking to get risky and frisky, Jason knows the smartest thing to do is save himself a headache while saving the new divorcee from her worst impulses. But then one thing leads to another, and the memory of just-one-night doesn’t feel like enough.
She’s done it! Penny wrote a full novel giving us Diane and Repo’s story to fit into the Winston Brothers series.
I remember reading a short story about them a LONG time ago and was instantly hooked and wanting more. Now it’s coming!! I have a feeling this is going to be a great romance featuring a fantastic older couple. I can’t wait.
Fake Relationship Romance
Abbi is in need of a date for Thanksgiving though she’s not divulging why. That’s the only reason why she’s taking up the dreamiest hockey player of Moo U’s offer for a fake date, even though he’s her long-time crush.
Turns out Weston’s family is even nuttier than hers and he needs a date, too, for the most uncomfortable holiday engagement party ever thrown.
I adore Bowen’s new adult romances so I’m excited to see what she has to add to the Moo U series. I also never turn down an opportunity to read about a college hockey stud so I’m all in with this one. Add in a fake relationship and I have a feeling sparks are going to fly.
Fake Relationship Romance
Single mother April Parker has lived in Willow Creek for twelve years with a wall around her heart. On the verge of being an empty nester, she’s decided to move on and asks her friend Mitch for his help to get her house ready to sell.
Mitch Malone is known for being the life of every party, but mostly for the attire he wears to the local Renaissance Faire–a kilt (and not much else) that shows off his muscled form to perfection. While he agrees to help April, he asks for a favor in return.
He needs her to pretend to his girlfriend at an upcoming family dinner, so that he can avoid the lectures about settling down and having a more “serious” career than high school coach and gym teacher. April reluctantly agrees, but when their “fake” relationship gets extended, it becomes hard to tell what’s real and what’s been just for show.
Oh how I adore fake relationship romance books and this one sounds so perfect. I like how these two characters seem different but can’t wait to see how their attraction blooms. And let’s be honest- I’m up for finding any new book boyfriend who wears a kilt 😉.
Pin This For Later:
Holiday, Office Romance
It’s two weeks before Christmas and I’m standing alone in front of the famous Vivant department store, when a charming man named Aiden asks my opinion of the décor.
Unknowing he’s the owner of the store, I told him my honest opinion which landed me a new job. Now I’m dressing store windows and trying to ignore my handsome boss.
Honestly, if Tessa Bailey is writing it, I’m up for it and this one sounds too cute to miss. Once I heard that her hero was inspired by the character Ted Lasso, that sealed the deal. I enjoy a bit of sweet with my sexy when it comes to Christmas romance books so I’m all in with this one.
Enemies to Lovers Romance
Leigh D’Alessandro fought to escape her dysfunctional family and now she’s fighting to keep the community hospital she works for afloat. What she’s tired of fighting is her attraction to her best friend’s playboy brother with the notorious reputation.
Walker Leffersbee knows he has a reputation in his small town for being a ladies’ man. He’s also a confirmed bachelor so the last thing he plans on doing is giving in to his long-standing craving for his sister’s headstrong and hot-tempered best friend. Especially because she’s the only one who knows the secret that threatens to upend his life.
The book has amazing characters and great writing, so I am excited to read her second release in this series (though this can easily be read as a standalone).
When my young son inherited half of his great grandfather’s historic inn, I decided to move us both to the place where I grew up. Only the other half now belonged to Levi Miller, the famous quarterback who just wanted to cash out and sell the place.
So, he made me a proposal. Book every room in the bed and breakfast by the time he had to leave for training and he’d let me run it.
Living under the same roof while renovations are under way only made me crave the man who I should definitely not be fantasizing about. Not only because of our bet, but because he’s also my ex’s older brother.
I adore romance books where there is a bet between main characters. It just adds to the chemistry and tension. And if Keeland and Ward are writing it, then I know it’s going to be good. This writing duo keeps churning out great stories and I can’t wait to check out this one.
Christmas Romance, Royal Romance
Maximillian von Hansburg, Baron of Laudon and heir to the Duke of Aquilla, is trapped. Under pressure to marry a suitable bride before he inherits a title that feels like a prison sentence, he flees to New York. There he arrives on Dani Martinez’s doorstep. She’s the no-nonsense professor that has intrigued him since they met at the Eldovian royal wedding.
Newly single Dani is done with love which is why she hits it off with notorious rake Max. He’s trying to escape relationships, and she’s resolved to avoid them at all costs.
All they want from each other is friendship and a distraction from their messy lives. As their bond begins to deepen, so does their attraction, until they end up in bed together. Falling in love was never part of the plan.
This sounds like such a delightful Christmas romance where love finds you when you’re least expecting it. I also love contemporary royal romances so I’m anxious to check out Holiday’s writing with this one.
