๐ If You Only Read a Few Books This Month, Start With These:
The Daddy’s Girl
by Sara Cate
Releasing September 1, 2026
Age Gap | Taboo Romance | Adult Club
If I’m looking to dive into something extra steamy, Sara Cate is always one of my first picks. I’m already hoping The Daddy’s Girl earns a place on my list of the best age gap and taboo romances because falling for your retired godfather who once ran a kink club? That’s exactly the kind of setup I cannot resist.
As much as I’m here for the taboo tension, what intrigues me most is that these two begin by trying to help each other find love, only to realize they’ve been searching in the wrong direction all along. I’ll be diving into this one the minute it releases.
Pumpkin Spice and Promises
by Nora Everly
Releasing September 1, 2026
Best Friend’s Brother | Small Town
Nothing screams fall more than a small-town harvest festival, a Mr. Pumpkin pageant, and a pumpkin spice latte in hand while reading on Kindle Unlimited. That’s exactly how I plan to experience this one.
Between a heroine fighting to save her family farm and the reluctant officer unknowingly signed up to compete, I’m expecting the cozy, swoony, laugh-out-loud fall romance I’ve been craving to kick off the season.
Big Bad Wolf
by Laurie Gilmore
Releasing September 8, 2026
Paranormal Romance | Werewolf Romance
Werewolf romances are my favorite corner of paranormal romance, and fall is the perfect time to add another to my TBR. The moment I saw Laurie Gilmore was putting her signature cozy small-town charm into a werewolf romance, I was completely sold.
If you loved the charm of Dream Harbor, Maple Hollow promises the same cozy community with a darker, supernatural twist. Between the mysterious woodsman and all the Little Red Riding Hood vibes, I am hoping this is going to be my favorite paranormal romance of the season.

Fall Love
by L.B. Dunbar
Releasing September 10, 2026
Accidental Pregnancy | One Night Stand
I can always count on L.B. Dunbar to deliver romances featuring later-in-life couples, but this one has me especially excited with its irresistible fall atmosphere and opposites-attract pairing.
I already know this is the kind of romance I’ll want to curl up with on a crisp fall afternoon. One unforgettable night turns into an unexpected pregnancy, forcing two complete opposites to figure out what a future together might actually look like.
Grim Tidings
by B.K. Borison
Releasing September 15, 2026
Paranormal Romance | Small Town
Paranormal romances can sometimes start to blend together, but a romance between a guardian angel and a grim reaper immediately stopped me in my tracks. That’s exactly the kind of fresh premise I love discovering.
Add in B.K. Borison, whose romances always leave me completely invested in her characters, and this became an instant addition to my fall TBR.
Doomsdate
by Laura Piper Lee
Releasing September 15, 2026
Paranormal Romance | Bedroom Lessons | Forced Proximity | Road Trip
I instantly fell for Doomsdate’s fun premise, but what surprised me most was how much I loved the romance. Come for the zombie apocalypse and hilarious road trip, but stay for the sweet cinnamon roll hero, fiercely capable prepper heroine, and unexpectedly steamy bedroom lessons.
It’s quirky, funny, and unlike anything else releasing this month.

Prey for Me
by Allie Oleander
Releasing September 22, 2026
Dark Romance | Forced Proximity | Stalking
Prey for Me landed on my TBR the moment it was announced because I was obsessed with Willing Prey last year and immediately needed more from Allie Oleander.
While this one leans even darker with stalking and fear kink, her character work and completely original storylines continue to make her an auto-buy author for me.

Free Falling
by Lyla Sage
Releasing September 22, 2026
Paranormal Romance | Ghosts | Small Town
Clarke completely stole the show in the first Sweetwater Creek book, so I’ve been impatiently waiting for her happily ever after.
The ghost of her childhood crush’s father playing matchmaker is such a fun twist on a second-chance romance, and I have a feeling he’s going to steal just as many scenes as the romance itself.
You’re the One That I Haunt
by Katie Jung
Releasing September 22, 2026
Paranormal Romance | Ghost | Love Triangle | Family Curse
There is so much about this debut that immediately caught my attention, from the family curse and childhood crush to the ghostly love triangle set against New York City.
I’m especially curious to see how Katie Jung convinces me to root for a ghost. That’s a tall order, and I’m excited to see her pull it off.

Threshing Day
by Rebecca Yarros
Releasing September 29, 2026
Romantasy | Dragons
If you’re as obsessed with the Empyrean series as I am, this is an automatic preorder. It’s been far too long since I’ve escaped into this world, and the promise of getting back inside Xaden’s head immediately put this at the top of my September TBR.
The sixteen original full-color illustrations are the perfect bonus, but I’m going to savor every new story that lets me spend more time with my favorite riders and dragons.
