Where to Start with Rebecca Yarros
If you’re new to Rebecca Yarros, don’t start at the beginning – start with the vibe you’re in the mood for:
If you want the viral fantasy everyone is obsessed with:
👉 Fourth Wing
Dragons, danger, and a romance that builds tension in the best way. This is the most addictive place to start.
If you want emotional romance that actually delivers:
👉 In the Likely Event
This one surprised me in the best way. It’s emotional, layered, and one of her most satisfying love stories.
If you want something deeply emotional and reflective:
👉 The Things We Leave Unfinished
This is one of her most talked-about books for a reason as it blends past and present in a way that really stays with you.
My Favorite Rebecca Yarros Books (Ranked)
If you’re just looking for her best, these are the ones I’d recommend first:

1. Fourth Wing
This completely lives up to the hype. It’s fast-paced, immersive, and has that addictive “just one more chapter” energy that turns into staying up way too late. It’s got that intense enemies to lovers tension I couldn’t get enough of. Plus…dragons!

2. Iron Flame
The stakes get higher, the world expands, and the emotional tension deepens. If you loved Fourth Wing, this delivers on everything you want more of.

3. In the Likely Event
This is one of her strongest contemporary romances. It feels grounded, emotional, and the kind of love story that really earns its payoff. Her own experience with military life really shines through.

4. The Things We Leave Unfinished
This one leans more emotional and reflective, with a layered story that unfolds over time. It’s one of those books that lingers.

5. Variation
I went into this curious and ended up really appreciating the emotional depth. It’s a quieter story, but still very much in that signature Yarros style.
