What is the Fourth Wing TV Series About?

The Fourth Wing TV series will adapt the first book in the Empyrean series, Fourth Wing, with the possibility of subsequent seasons adapting the rest of the books in the series, including Iron Flame.

Fourth Wing is one of the new romance book releases coming May 2023.

Fourth Wing follows the story of twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail who was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, but whose mother, the commanding general, orders her to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite dragon riders of Navarre.

But Violet’s smaller, more brittle body, not to mention her last name, puts a target on her back putting her at risk from her fellow candidates as well as the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant, Xaden Riorson.

Yet, with every day that passes, the battle outside grows more dangerous, the kingdom’s protective wards are failing, and the ledger of those lost continues to rise.

Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret.

Who is Developing the Fourth Wing TV Series?

Amazon MGM Studios and Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society have acquired the rights to Fourth Wing, its hotly anticipated second release, Iron Flame, and the three remaining books planned in the Fourth Wing series.

The author, Rebecca Yarros, is a non-writing executive producer for the Fourth Wing TV series as well as Liz Pelletier for Entangled Publishing.

It’s no surprise that there was a heated auction to acquire the Fourth Wing series rights in December 2021 considering that Fourth Wing has spent 25 weeks on the New York Times’ Bestseller list and counting.

Fourth Wing TV Series Cast

Whichever actors step into the starring roles of Xaden and Violet will have big shoes to fill and I cannot wait to see who fans start shipping.

What is the Fourth Wing TV Series Rating?

Well, Fourth Wing is quite a steamy romance book so I’ll be interested to see how much of those “steamy” scenes are kept for the TV series to give it an R rating or if it will be kept more PG-13.

What is the Fourth Wing TV Series Release Date?

The TV rights to the Fourth Wing book and series were purchased before the Writer’s strike but it is unknown when things will get rolling for the show given the state of Hollywood at the moment.

Where Will the Fourth Wing TV Series Be Streamed?

The Fourth Wing TV series will stream on Prime Video as Amazon Studios is one of the production companies.

How Many Seasons Will There Be for the Fourth Wing TV Series?

Rebecca Yarros has come out and said that she already plotted out a five-book story arc for the Fourth Wing series.

Rights to all five books (including those whose titles have yet to be released) have been picked up for the TV series so here’s hoping that we will get five seasons of the Fourth Wing TV series with each season focusing on one entire book.

It will ultimately come down to how successful the first season is to know how many seasons we can anticipate so be sure to tune in to season one!

  1. I’ll watch the show because I really liked the book but I’m going to be cautious in how much I get invested in the show. I’m still waiting for another author to finish his book series. The show that was based on his books outpaced the books and in my opinion destroyed character arcs when they had no more source material.

  2. I think one of the following actresses should be top picks for Violet: Ester Expósito
    Kiernan Shipka
    Mackenzie Foy
    Thomasin McKenzie
