Books About a Romance Author
Wait With Me
by Amy Daws
When romance novelist Kate Smith suddenly gets writer’s block as she’s beginning the final installment of her international bestselling steamy Bed ‘n Breakfast series, she’ll do pretty much anything to get her groove back.
Like sneak into a Tire Depot waiting room because her words flow there just like complimentary coffee-smooth, sweet, and scorchingly hot.
She manages to fly under the radar until the rugged and charming mechanic, Miles Hudson, notices the quirky redhead slinking in and out of the employees only entrance. But she’s way too intriguing to blow the whistle on. Doing a test-drive of her new book idea sounds like a much better option.
The True Love Experiment
by Christina Lauren
Felicity โFizzyโ Chen is lost. Sure, sheโs got an incredible career as a beloved romance novelist with a slew of bestsellers under her belt, but when sheโs asked to give a commencement address, it hits her: she hasnโt been practicing what sheโs preached.
Fizzy hasnโt ever really been in love. Lust? Definitely. But that swoon-worthy, canโt-stop-thinking-about-him, all-encompassing feeling? Nope. Nothing. What happens when the optimism sheโs spent her career encouraging in readers starts to feel like a lie?
Connor Prince, documentary filmmaker and single father, loves his work but when his profit-minded boss orders him to create a reality TV show, putting his job on the line, Connor is out of his element. Desperate to find his romantic lead, a chance run-in with an exasperated Fizzy offers Connor the perfect solution.
What if he could show the queen of romance herself falling head-over-heels for all the world to see? Fizzy gives him a hard passโunless he agrees to her list of demands. When he says yes, and production on The True Love Experiment begins, Connor wonders if that perfect match will ever be in the cue cards for him, too.

Beach Read
by Emily Henry
Augustus Everett is an acclaimed author of literary fiction. January Andrews writes bestselling romance. When she pens a happily ever after, he kills off his entire cast. Theyโre polar opposites.
In fact, the only thing they have in common is that for the next three months, they’re living in neighboring beach houses, broke, and bogged down with writer’s block.
Until, one hazy evening, one thing leads to another and they strike a deal designed to force them out of their creative ruts: Augustus will spend the summer writing something happy, and January will pen the next Great American Novel. Sheโll take him on field trips worthy of any rom-com montage, and heโll take her to interview surviving members of a backwoods death cult (obviously). Everyone will finish a book and no one will fall in love. Really.
Seven Days in June
by Tia Williams
Eva Mercy is a single mom and bestselling erotica writer. Shane Hall is a reclusive, award-winning novelist. When the two meet at a literary event, sparks fly, raising not only their buried traumas, but the eyebrows of the Black literati.
What no one knows is that when they were teenager, Eva and Shane spent one crazy week madly in love. They can pretend they’ve never met, but they canโt deny their chemistryโor the fact that theyโve been secretly writing to each other in their books through the years.
To Love Jason Thorn
by Ella Maise
Jason Thornโฆ My brotherโs childhood friend. Oh, how stupidly in love with that boy I was. He was the first boy that made me blush, my first official crush. Sounds beautiful so far, right? That excitement that bubbles up inside you, those famous butterflies you feel for the very first timeโhe was the reason for them all.
But, you only get to live in that fairytale world until they crush your hopes and dreams and then stomp on your heart for good measure. And boy did he crush my little heart into pieces.
After the stomping part he became the boy I did my best to stay away fromโand let me tell you, it was pretty hard to do when he slept in the room right across from mine. When tragedy struck his family and they moved away, I was ready to forget he ever existed.
Now he is a movie star, the one who makes women of all ages go into a screaming frenzy, the one who makes everyone swoon with that dimpled smile of his. Do you think thatโs dreamy? I certainly donโt think so. How about me coming face to face with him? Nope still not dreamy. Not when I canโt even manage to look him in the eye.
Me? Iโm Olive, a new writer. Actually, Iโm THE writer of the book that inspired the movie he is about to star in on the big screen. As of late, I am also referred to as the oh-so-very-lucky girl who is about to become the wife of Jason Thorn.Maybe youโre thinking yet again that this is all so dreamy? Nope, nothing dreamy going on here. Not even close.
Escorted
by Claire Kent

Still a virgin at twenty-six and increasingly frustrated by her inexperience, she decides to take matters into her own hands. She hires a talented, sexy male escort to take care of her inconvenient virginity.
She assumes one time with Ander will be enough, but she never dreams how much pleasure he can make her feel. Once isn’t nearly enough. Twice isn’t enough either. Soon, she becomes one of his regular clients. Lori knows that nothing would be as foolish as falling in love with her paid escort, but she’s never been wise with her heart.
And, despite his professionalism, he doesn’t seem entirely immune either.

Things We Never Got Over
by Lucy Score
(a must-read!)
Bearded, bad-boy barber Knox prefers to live his life the way he takes his coffee: Alone. Unless you count his basset hound, Waylon. Knox doesnโt tolerate drama, even when it comes in the form of a stranded runaway bride.
Naomi wasnโt just running away from her wedding. She was riding to the rescue of her estranged twin to Knockemout, Virginia, a rough-around-the-edges town where disputes are settled the old-fashioned wayโฆwith fists and beer. Usually in that order.
Too bad for Naomi her evil twin hasnโt changed at all. After helping herself to Naomiโs car and cash, Tina leaves her with something unexpected. The niece Naomi didnโt know she had. Now sheโs stuck in town with no car, no job, no plan, and no home with an 11-year-old going on thirty to take care of.
Thereโs a reason Knox doesnโt do complications or high-maintenance women, especially not the romantic ones. But since Naomiโs life imploded right in front of him, the least he can do is help her out of her jam. And just as soon as she stops getting into new trouble he can leave her alone and get back to his peaceful, solitary life.
At least, thatโs the plan until the trouble turns to real danger.

Lost and Lassoed
by Lyla Sage
(enemies to lovers)
Teddy Andersen doesnโt have a plan. Sheโs never needed one before. Sheโs always been more of a go-with-the-flow type of girl, but for some reason, the flow doesnโt seem to be going her way this time.
Her favorite vintage suede jacket has a hole in it, her sewing machine is broken, and her best friend just got engaged. Suddenly, everything feels like itโs starting to change. Teddy is used to being a leader, but now she feels like sheโs getting left behind, wondering if life in the small town she loves is enough for her anymore.
Gus Ryder has a lot on his plate. He doesnโt know whatโs harder: taking care of his familyโs 8,000 acre ranch, or parenting his spunky six-year-old daughter, who is staying with him for the summer. Gus has always been the dependable one, but when his workload starts to overwhelm him, he has to admit that he canโt manage everything on his own. He needs help.
His little sisterโs best friend, the woman he canโt stand, is not who he had in mind. But when no one else can step in, Teddyโs the only option heโs got. Teddy decides to use the summer to try and figure out what she wants out of life. Gus, on the other hand, starts to worry that heโll never find what he needs.
Tempers flare, tension builds, and for the first time ever, Gus and Teddy start to see each other in a different light. As new feelings start to simmer below the surface, they must decide whether they should act on them. Can they keep things cool? Or will both of them get burned?
Wild Eyes
by Elsie Silver
(heroine in trouble)
A rugged mountain town seemed like the perfect escape from a life in shambles. But on day one I ran full tilt into the worldโs hottest single dad and now all my plans are ruined.
As a chart-topping country singer with a recent streak of bad press itโs hard to find any peace. But I find it in Rose Hill. With a little boy and a little girl who steal my heart just as thoroughly as their dad. Weston Belmont.
The man is a shameless flirt. He oozes confidence and masculinity in a way thatโs downright distracting. And in bed? Heโs addictive.
Everything with him is wild and impulsive and Iโm desperate to regain some control. But no one has supported me like West does. And no one has ever made me feel as loved as he does either.
So, while my brain says settling down with a small-town horse trainer is impossibleโฆ my heart says Iโm right where I belong.
Still, my life as a celebrity haunts me. It has the power to pull us apart. I can see in his eyes that wants me to stay. And I want that too. But I know better than anyone that we donโt always get what we want.
Not My Kind of Hero
by Pipa Grant
(heroine in need of a new scene)
I knew fixing up my life with a fresh start on the hobby ranch I inherited in Hellโs Bells, Wyoming, would come with challenges. Things like snow. Wildlife. Local gossip about why my daughter and I are here.
But the biggest challenge? My surly new tenant. Heโs like a bear. Fascinating from a distance, but donโt get too close, or heโll bite.
His personality should be a good thing. I have no need of a new man in my life. But heโs not only my tenant; heโs also my daughterโs math teacher and soccer coach. I keep running into him. He keeps thinking I need to be saved.
Maybe I do, but hereโs what I donโt expect: heโs a fixer-upper in need of saving too. And I might be the only woman for the job. Hellโs Bells, help me.

Folk Around and Find Out
by Penny Reid
(heroine in trouble)
Hank Weller doesnโt help people. He leaves that do-gooder nonsense to his best friend, Beau Winston. Hank does what he wants, when he wants, with whomever he wantsโand Hank does not want to hire Charlotte Mitchell to be an exotic dancer at his club, The Pink Pony.
Sure, he canโt help noticing the dips and curves of her, how shrewd, smart, and funny she is, the fire in her hazel eyes. Heโs always noticed. Sheโd probably draw a crowd and entice the regulars.
But after Charlotteโs messy, public divorce made Hankโs club out to be the culpritโand made her the single mother of four kidsโhe doesnโt need or want any additional bad press courtesy of Charlotte Mitchell. Or the distraction. Unfortunately for him, the townโs prettiest charity case doesnโt seem to understand the meaning of the words nope, no, and never.
Charlotte Mitchell doesnโt much like Hank Weller. Once upon a time, she used to. Years ago, she liked him a whole heckofalot despite other folks in town labeling him as โeccentricโ and โnonconformist,โ which were polite southern alternatives to โfilthy richโ and โself-centered douchebag.โ
Her opinion of him changed dramatically after he volunteered to be her date to junior prom and then promptly stood her up. They havenโt so much as acknowledged each other in over a decade.
But a sudden family emergency means Charlotte needs access to Hankโs club ASAP. Unfortunately for her, the narcissistic fancy-pants doesnโt seem to understand the meaning of the words help, generosity, and compassion.
But heโs about to find himself schooled. Charlotte is going to teach Hank a lesson once and for all about basic human decency, whether he likes it or not.
Spoiler alert. . . he likes it. ๐

Drive Me Wild
by Melanie Harlow
When Blair Beaufort literally crashes into Bellamy Creek wearing a ball gown and a tiara, I should have towed her car, said goodnight, and sent her packing. Iโm a mechanic, not a hotel manager.
I’ve got enough on my plate trying to keep my shop from going under, my overbearing mother off my back, and my baseball team in contention for the league championship. I donโt have time for a former debutante with zero street smarts and a cash flow problem, even if she is crazy beautiful.
Problem is, sheโs stranded in my small town, and Iโm hiding a protective streak underneath my broody exterior that runs deep. So I offer her a place to stay and keep my hands to myself. For exactly one night.
If only she weren’t so gorgeous. So funny. So eager to please. Sheโs a disaster behind the wheel, but she drives me wild without even trying–at work, at home, in the back of my truck . . . I canโt get enough of the way she makes me feel. But I know better than to think it can last.
She wants a fairy tale, and Iโm no prince. So when it comes time for her to leave, thereโs nothing I can do but let her go. No matter how much it hurts to say goodbye.
