I never thought that Iโd be telling myself, my friends and my family after reading a romance book that I WANT TO GO TO GERMANY NEXT CHRISTMAS!
Seriously, after reading this book, Christmas in Germany is now on my bucket list for life.
Quinn not only wrote a sweet and romantic, friends to lovers story, but she takes you on this amazing trip through Germany that makes you want to jump into the book and travel right along with them.
Not that this book read like a travel guide.
Either Quinn experienced a similar trip first hand or she did some major research as she weaved in some amazing experiences in such a beautiful way that just fit with the story.
This is a sign of a great writer who can inspire you to take action. And I am inspired! Germany here I come.
But I also equally loved this duo as well as the sights and scenery.
Crew and Hazel were childhood friends who eventually lost touch and lost their way until they were sent on a trip across Germany by their beloved Pops.
Crew had become focused on his football career at the expense of other people and experiences in his life while Hazel was drowning under the responsibility of continuing Popโs legacy on his farm.
Both had been devastated by his recent loss but neither expected for him to send them on a trip to Germany with their long lost friend.
While some apologies needed to be made and forgiveness given, you could instantly see Crew and Hazelโs connection.
Their chemistry is just there and believable from the start, and I love when it just comes across so authentically in a book.
I loved their honesty with one another, their humor and banter, and their shared memories of the man who sent them on their journey.
I wish everyone could have a Pops in their life too. A man who loves you whole heartedly and will even look out for you and your best interests after they are gone. His letters often had me in tears.
This is book two in the Kings of Football series but can easily be read as a standalone.
It is such a unique story that gave me more than I anticipated and I absolutely loved it.
If youโre a sucker for childhood friends to lovers stories or simply want to escape into a different world, I highly suggest reading this book.
