So This is War Summary:
Did I think I was going to fall for my coach’s daughter? The answer would be no. I’m still unclear on how I got into this predicament in the first place. A year ago, I was a man with one thought on his mind, the redhead I met at a hotel bar. Twelve months later, I found her.
Unfortunately for me, she not only happens to be my very off-limits coach’s daughter, but also . . . my new assistant and roommate.
I don’t even need an assistant, but Coach Wood doesnโt take no for an answer. Add in him writing up tasks for his daughter, Wylie, to complete for me? Well, it’s his own form of sweet torture. We are talking tasks that I would never ask her to do.
Tasks that make her despise me. Hate me. That make her utter four words that cause a shiver to crawl up my spine . . . Posey, this is war.
So This is War: My Review
โI love bolgna sandwiches,โ she whispers. โSo do I,โ I whisper back. โThatโs how I know weโre meant to be together.โ
Meghan Quinn delivered such an epic conclusion to her Vancouver Agitators series with Poseyโs love story and it totally rivals Kiss and Donโt Tell, book one, as my favorite of the series. Starting and ending a fun series on a high that you donโt want to miss!
While So This is War is the fifth and final book to Quinnโs hockey romance series, it can easily be read as a standalone and should be (if you havenโt read the rest of the series) because itโs vintage Quinn! Meaning, this book has all the love, laughter and spice that Iโve come to expect and love about reading Meghan Quinnโs books and this one totally delivers it all.
Posey is the bologna-eating softie whoโs a bruiser on the ice. Heโs the defenseman you donโt want to face in the world of hockey but off the ice heโs the best friend and teammate you could ever ask for. Plus, as he loves to flaunt, heโs responsible for all of his best budโs love relationships because itโs his interference that finally got them their happily-ever-afters.
Well, now itโs finally his turn to fall head over heels for someone despite his playboy reputation and itโs his teammates’ significant others that help him finally nail the girl.
I absolutely loved Posey and Wylieโs initial meetcute. He had no idea who she was but she made an impression that stuck with him for an entire year until he comes face to face with her again, discovering that sheโs his coachโs daughter.
To further complicate matters, his coach strong-arms him into hiring Wylie as his assistant, an assistant he doesnโt need, which lands her as his roommate since sheโs also kicked out of her fatherโs house to โlearn a lesson.โ
So first off, Coach Wood sucks. What a douchebag dad to ignore your daughterโs interests and purposefully try and make her life hell. Dad of the year โ not. Plus he totally sucked as a coach, putting Posey in that position and saying some of the hurtful things he said. Heโs a character in the background mostly, thank goodness, but I did not like this man.
But Posey is a gem. I just loved this guy and his earnestness to be there for his teammates and now struggle with his desire and attraction to Wylie when she was completely off-limits. Their chemistry was super cute and youโre just waiting for them to finally push over that line and get it on!
While I loved the bromance of Posey and his teammates in the previous books in the series, Quinn was a genius in changing things up for this book and creating a text thread between Posey and his โQueensโ as he dubbed them โ seeking their advice on how to deal with his situation with Wylie since he had to keep it on the hush-hush.
Their text threads were hilarious and really showed their different personalities. Ollie is constantly a hoot.
But donโt worry as you do get enough โbro timeโ with your favorite Agitators and I loved how OC was vying for his position as Poseyโs favorite. Iโm now so ready for his spin-off book!
If youโre looking for a super cute and super spicy book that his both hilarious and just fun to read, then So This is War is the book for you. It will not disappoint! While I love hockey romance books, there isnโt a whole lot of hockey playing in this book but a super good locker room scene ๐.
If youโre a fan of Meghan Quinnโs books or are looking for a great book to read this summer then So This is War deserves a spot on your TBR list!
