You Make It Feel Like Christmas Summary:
Maisie Smart doesnโt look back. Not on the choice she made to be a photographer, and not on the one-night stand she had six months ago. But sleeping with a professional hockey player who bolted the morning after is a whole new level of embarrassing. Now sheโs about to spend the week at Tickle Tree Farms with her family this Christmasโand then the universe throws a Grinch in her festive plans.
Nick King is a mess. After a significant injury benches him, he has more time to dwell on his anxieties and the one-night stand he canโt get out of his head. With the holidays around the corner, he figures visiting his sister and nephew at their Christmas tree farm will be a good way to sort himself out. Thatโs impossible when he learns Maisie is there, still beautiful and justifiably angry about the way he left. But Christmas is the time for second chances, and the forced proximity may help Nick and Maisie unwrap feelings neither of them can walk away from twice.
You Make It Feel Like Christmas: My Review
Thereโs no better time than the holiday season to snuggle up with a wonderful romance with the sweetest happily ever afters and Sullivan provides the perfect one in You Make It Feel Like Christmas.
Give me a book about a Christmas tree farm, a hot and sweet hockey player, fun Christmas activities to celebrate the season with an adorable happily ever after and Iโm a happy camper. I can easily see this book being made into a Hallmark holiday movie and itโs one Iโd love to see.
The book kicks off with Nick and Maisie finding themselves at the same house for the Christmas holiday which wouldnโt be awkward if six months ago they didnโt have a one night stand where Nick ghosted her the following morning. Granted we learn that he had his reasons, it was evident from their first reunion (love the shower scene!) that their chemistry was off the charts.
From their fun reunion Sullivan weaved in their attempts to maneuver between the awkwardness and the excitement since they both really felt a connection their first night. But between trying to keep their attraction under wraps from their family members, you get fun scenes with them competing in a snowball fight, decorating Christmas cookies, watching holiday movies and so many fun holiday events that I love to do with my family. So this book will definitely get you in the holiday spirit.
Once they realize their feelings are not just one-night stand worthy, it turned to a sweet romance where you see them trying to figure out how to make their relationship work while heโs juggling a major career decision and anxiety that makes him prone to panic attacks and sheโs constantly managing her motherโs misplaced feelings which end up making Maisie feel like sheโs never good enough. Oh the things that woman would say just made me cringe!
So Sullivan packs a lot into this romance and wraps it up with a sweet little bow. I loved seeing Nickโs romantic side and loved how he called her baby. (sometimes it doesnโt work but it so did in this book!).
If you love Christmas romance books that really get you in the mood for the holiday but leave the spicy details off page then put this on your TBR list this year! I cannot wait to read more of her books.
