That was my exact thought once I saw how extremely popular this category of romance books had become.

I mean, I knew that science fiction was a popular reading genre, but alien romance? Yes!

I shouldn’t have been surprised though given the popularity of paranormal romance and romance books with werewolves, vampires, witches, shapeshifters, and other creatures.

Romance readers around the world have a thing for creatures out of this world and boy do they love reading about them, especially if they are blue!

So of course I had to jump on the bandwagon and see what the fuss was all about with alien romance books, and I have to say that I’m glad I did!

And what better way to test the waters than to start with THE alien romance book- Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon?!

What’s the Fuss About Alien Romance Books?

Why limit your happily-ever-afters to mere mortals on earth when you can expand your horizons and find love with an alien?

I mean, if men of earth are not stepping up to the plate, why not see what alien romance books have to offer?

Then again, I should warn you that many alien romance books focus on alien abduction so the women of Earth are not necessarily willing participants at first.

But for some reason, the alien warriors or alien mates that abduct them or save them sure do turn out to be their one and only – blue, scales, horns and all.

I absolutely adored this alien romance which is really a romance about two unique characters from different kingdoms. (No humans in this one!).

I was struck by them from their first meeting and how both looked beyond appearances to find true love within.

Yes, it’s an alien romance but really just a wonderful marriage of convenience story with the best slow burn. My Review.

Choosing Theo

Ultimately I can’t wait to decide for myself if Jade should stay or return to Earth.

I love that this is an alien romance book where the alien actually wants to get rid of the human he accidentally abducts rather than keep her initially.

While technically a novella, you’ll laugh at the banter and swoon over the purple alien.

The Naked Alien

I love how communication is an issue for these two since they don’t speak the same language.

They have to fight through their miscommunications to survive the jungle and just maybe fall for one another in the process!

Of course its premise is typical of alien romance where she is abducted and taken to another planet, so you get that too.

It does have some very explicit triggers so be forewarned there as well.
