Madison Walker left Rome, Kentucky, determined to make it in the culinary world. In Your Dreams: My Review

Can I move to fictional Rome, Kentucky because my new favorite book boyfriend lives there and I NEED him. I will legit fight Madison over him even though I love her just as hard, but James is a hero unlike any other and I love Sarah Adams for creating this man!

To say that she closed out this epic series with a stunner is an understatement. How these books just keep getting better and better is beyond me but just proves why Sarah is one of my favorite authors because she totally exceeded my expectations with In Your Dreams.

Friends to lovers books can sometimes be hit or miss for me but In Your Dreams instantly landed on my best romance books of 2025 list. The connection, chemistry and slow burn relationship between James and Madison was written to perfection.

The banter between them and the humor interspersed is the absolute best. I swear Sarah Adams is one of the best rom-com writers out there and I’m convinced she would be SO FUN to hang out with.

Every book in this series has been a fresh story with the most amazing characters, yet each also intersperses the strong sense of family and the best parts of small town romance.

Madison is a girl after my own heart. She is carefree, a bit wild and absolutely hilarious, but also someone with a bruised heart and who thinks of herself as “the failure” in the family. I loved her passion for cooking and was happy to see her reclaim that love while also not shying away from showing her feelings toward James.

But James…oh James. If only you were a real man. I loved every moment that you saw Madison for who she is and for what she needed. She teased you for being a good man but you also had your edges that I loved just as much. I may have been in my cowboy romance era but that has now turned into my farmer romance era 😊.

If you are new to the Rome, Kentucky series, then dive right in and circle back to read the rest. In Your Dreams can easily be read as a standalone though you do meet the siblings and their significant others in this one, making it the perfect send-off to the series.
