June 2024’s Most Anticipated New Romance Books

Just Some Stupid Love Story is one of the most anticipated June 2024 new romance book releases. Check out all that's new in romance on She Reads Romance Books!

Just Some Stupid Love Story
by Katelyn Doyle

Second Chance Romance
Releasing June 4, 2024

Molly Marks’ one and only time she was naive enough to fall in love was with her high school boyfriend, Seth—who she ghosted on the eve of graduation and hasn’t seen in fifteen years. Seth Rubinstein believes in love despite his job as one of Chicago’s most successful divorce attorneys.

When Molly’s friends drag her to Florida for their fifteenth high school reunion, it is poetic justice that she’s forced to sit with Seth. Too many martinis and a drunken hookup later, they decide to make a bet: whoever can predict the fate of five couples before the next reunion must declare that the other is right about true love. The catch? The fifth couple is the two of them.

Why It’s a Must Read: I’m so excited to see how much I love this romcom when I have already fallen for Katelyn Doyle’s historical romances penned under the name Scarlett Peckham. High school reunions are such a fun story set-up for romance books which is why this one also caught my eye as a must-read this June.

Summer Romance
by Annabel Monaghan

Contemporary Romance
Releasing June 4, 2024

Ali Morris is a professional organizer whose own life is a mess. Her mom passed two years ago, then her husband left, and she hasn’t worn pants with a zipper in longer than she cares to remember.

No one is more surprised than Ali when the first time she takes off her wedding ring and puts on pants with hardware—overalls count, right?—she meets someone. Or rather, her dog claims a man for her…by peeing on him.

Ethan smiles at Ali like her pants are just right—like he likes what he sees. He looks at her like she’s a younger, braver version of herself. The last thing newly single mom Ali needs is to make her life messier, but there’s no harm in a little summer romance. Is there?

Why It’s a Must Read: I am such a sucker for a romance heroine who is down on her luck but gets the hunky hero in the end. Monaghan seems to be one of those “summer authors” in romance so here’s hoping this is a winner this year.

Past Present Future is one of the new romance book releases coming June 2024. See all that's new in romance on She Reads Romance Books.

Past Present Future
by Rachel Lynn Soloman

Young Adult Romance
Releasing June 4, 2024

When longtime rivals Rowan Roth and Neil McNair confessed their feelings on the last day of senior year, they knew they’d only have a couple of months together before they left for college. Now summer is over, and they’re determined to make their relationship work as they begin school in different places.

Over a year of late-night phone calls, weekend visits, and East Coast adventures, Rowan and Neil fall for each other again and again as they grapple with the uncertainty of their new lives. They’ve spent so many years at odds with each other—now that they’re finally on the same team, what does the future hold for them?

Why It’s a Must Read: I always love romance books that focus on couples after they fall in love and attempt to live happily ever after. Rachel Lynn Soloman has a special style of writing that I adore and I know that this sequel to her hit, Today Tonight Tomorrow is going to be one of the best young adult romances of the year.

Not in Love is one of the most anticipated June 2024 new romance book releases. Check out all that's new in romance on She Reads Romance Books!

Not in Love
by Ali Hazelwood

Enemies to Lovers Romance
Releasing June 11, 2024

Rue Siebert thought she had a stable career as a biotech engineer at Kline, one of the most promising start-ups in the field of food science until a hostile takeover and its offensively attractive front man threatens to bring it all crumbling down.

Eli Killgore and his business partners want Kline, and he’s a man who gets what he wants with the exception of the one woman he can’t stop thinking about.

Torn between loyalty and an undeniable attraction, Rue and Eli throw caution out the and start a secret, no-strings-attached affair with a built-in deadline: the day one of their companies will prevail.

Why It’s a Must Read: Written by Ali Hazelwood, check! An enemies to lovers romance, check! Do I really need any other reason to want to read this book? I’ve been saving my advanced reader copy for the perfect moment and I cannot wait to give it. I am already anticipating this book landing on my list of best romance novels of 2024!

The Rom-Commers
by Katherine Center

Forced Proximity Romance
Releasing June 11, 2024

Emma Wheeler desperately longs to be a screenwriter. But she’s been the sole caretaker for her kind-hearted dad, who needs full-time care. When she gets a chance to re-write a script for famous screenwriter Charlie Yates Emma moves to L.A. for six weeks for the writing gig of a lifetime.

Only Charlie Yates doesn’t want to write with anyone and the romantic comedy he’s written is so terrible it might actually bring on the apocalypse.

But Emma’s not going down without a fight. She will stand up for herself, and for rom-coms, and for love itself. She will convince him that love stories matter—even if she has to kiss him senseless to do it. But . . . what if that kiss is accidentally amazing? What if the love story they’re writing breaks all Emma’s rules—and comes true?

Why It’s a Must Read: Not only do you have to read this book because I think it is Katherine’s best work yet, but you have to read it because it’s a romcom about romcoms! If you’ve ever had to defend this genre then you’re going to be rooting on Emma in her plight to educate Charlie on the virtues of romcoms and you’ll love every minute of it.

One Last Summer

Friends to Lovers Romance
Releasing June 11, 2024

Clara Millen’s life is spiraling out of control and now she’s forced to join her friends on their annual summer vacation to their beloved childhood sleepover camp for a much-needed escape. But when Clara arrives at Pine Lake Camp, she faces yet another unwelcome change: the owners are retiring and selling the property.

The news turns her plans for revelry into a night of reminiscing . . . and prompts a surprise heart-to-heart between Clara and Mack, her old camp nemesis and constant competitor, who’s still just as annoying (and annoyingly handsome).

Soon the campfires aren’t all that’s throwing off sparks. And when one wildly passionate night turns into two (then too many to count!), Clara begins to wonder if she and Mack could have a future together. But when Clara’s boss finally offers her everything she’s worked so hard for, Clara will need to decide if the life she’s always wanted is the life that makes her feel truly alive

Why It’s a Must Read: This is the perfect summer romance to read that will have you reminiscing about summer camp and wishing you had a lake to escape to. I also loved that it touches on some important issues like burnout and pursuing your dreams while making you want to make s’mores, create friendship bracelets and participate in a relay race!

Business Casual

Opposites Attract Romance
Releasing June 25, 2024

Nova Porter isn’t looking for love, and she certainly has no explanation for her attraction to buttoned-up, three-piece-suit-wearing investment banker Charlie Milford. In an effort to get Charlie out of her system once and for all, Nova offers a proposition. One night. No strings.

But their hot night together scatters their expectations and now Nova can’t avoid Charlie in their small town while he’s hoping he can convince Nova he’s worth her time and possibly more.

Why It’s a Must Read: Is it really true that this is the final book in the Lovelight Farms series? Say it isn’t so! Alas, I’m super psyched for Charlie’s story in this fourth and final romance novel from Borrison that will bring out the best in small-town romance and opposites attract romance between the suit and the tattoo artist.

Tangled Up in You is one of the new romance book releases coming June 2024. See all that's new in romance on She Reads Romance Books.

Tangled Up in You
by Christina Lauren

New Adult Romance
Releasing June 25, 2024

Ren was raised on a homestead and has lived most of her life off the grid and now at twenty-two years-old she has no idea how to live in the real world. So when she finally achieves her lifelong dream of attending Corona College, it feels like her life is finally beginning.

Fitz has the rest of his life mapped out: Graduate from Corona at the top of his class, get his criminal record wiped clean, and pass himself off as the rich, handsome player everyone thinks he is. But a simple assignment in their immunology seminar changes the course of both their lives, and suddenly they’re thrown out of the frying pan and into the fire on a road trip that will lead them in the most unexpected directions.

Why It’s a Must Read: I love Disney’s Meant to Be collection of adult romances that are modern reimaginings of their princess classics. Leave it to Christina Lauren to take on Tangled which I am sure is going to be a fun and witty ride. It’s been some time since they dabbled in young adult/new adult romance so I’m excited to see what’s in store.

A Thousand Broken Pieces is one of the new romance book releases coming June 2024. See all that's new in romance on She Reads Romance Books.

A Thousand Broken Pieces
by Tillie Cole

Young Adult Romance
Releasing June 25, 2024

After losing her beloved sister three years ago, Savannah Litchfield has been living half a life. Now seventeen―the age Poppy left her ―the pain of losing her is worse than ever. When Savannah’s therapist suggests a trip around the world to help teens stricken by loss, she reluctantly agrees to it, clutching the unread journal Poppy left her as she goes.

On the trip she meets Cael Woods, a once promising hockey player who’s grieving the loss of his older brother. As Cael and Savannah embark on a journey of healing, they learn to find solace together, and the harder they fall, the more they heal the fractured fragments of their hearts, piece by broken piece.

Why It’s a Must Read: OMG Cole is giving us a follow-up to A Thousand Boy Kisses?! She nearly ripped my heart out with that book that made me full on ugly cry, so there is no question this is one made my list of most anticipated romance books of 2024. Expectations are high and the tissue boxes are ready.

Hockey, Enemies to Lovers Romance
Releasing June 25, 2024

Poppy St. James just landed her dream job as the Director of Public Relations for the NHL’s newest expansion team, the Jacksonville Rays, but the team owner has only granted her a one-year contract.

But it turns out professional hockey players are a major handful, and the party boy defenseman, Lukas Novikov, is a PR nightmare. But Poppy is determined to stay focused on the job…until the fateful night her phone rings.

One phone call from home leads to one drunken mistake. Now she’s staring down at a little blue plus sign and nothing will be the same.

Why It’s a Must Read: While I haven’t dived into the other Jacksonville Rays books, I’m interested to see how this book plays out given there is so much in it. You’ve got a spicy, MMF workplace hockey romance featuring accidental pregnancy in a “love triangle until it’s not” with positive queer representation. That’s got to be something for everyone this June!
