Top New Romance Book Releases Coming in 2020
It’s hard to believe that a new year is upon us, but with it is some anticipation for many new romance books that I cannot wait to get my hands on.
Many of my favorite authors have already announced some of their new releases for 2020 and I’m so excited.
In 2019 I read just under 200 books so I’m wondering if I can crack that number for 2020. I’m sure these books will be on my “read” list for the year and will help me toward that goal!
My most anticipated romance reads for 2020 span many romance genres and tropes including contemporary and historical romance, sports romance, opposites attract trope, slow burn romance, and relationship coach trope.
There’s just too much goodness to come that I’ll be counting down until their release dates.
Check out my most anticipated new romance book releases for 2020 below.

Most Anticipated Romance Books of 2020
Rules of Engagement
by J.T. Geissinger
We have another slow burn novel from J.T. Geissinger ladies and gents and I’m SO excited!
I’ve devoured her previous slow burn romances and I’m itching to get my hands on this one come January 28.
Maddie McRae is an adorkable matchmaker who is hired by arrogant, rude, but hot football player, Mason Spark to find him a wife so he can clean up his less than stellar image.
I can already see the sparks flying with these two in this opposites attract, slow burn romance. Bring it on!

Irresistible
by R.L. Mathewson
Is this for real?! Are we finally getting Aidan’s story? OMG, thank you!
I’ve been waiting for this one for FOREVER. The whole Neighbor From Hell series is hilarious but Aidan is one Bradford I’ve been dying to read about.
And the fact that he had a one night stand with Melanie that ended in an oops surprise- yeah, let’s see how this one shakes out!

Dirty Charmer
by Emma Chase
How I’ve missed Tommy Sullivan, the elite bodyguard we’ve already met in Emma Chase’s Royally series.
Dirty Charmer looks to kick off a new series for Chase so I can’t wait.
Last we saw Tommy he was in the hospital and it looks like he meets stuffy Abigail Haddock, a physician he believes is long overdue for some fun. And he seems ready to take the lead and give it to her.
I’m so game for this opposites attract, no strings attached fling to begin.

Wicked Secret
by Sawyer Bennett
Take me back to the Wicked Horse Vegas!
I’ve loved every one of Sawyer Bennett’s Wicked Horse stories – taking me into the inner world of these famous clubs, and now with the team from Jameson Force Security.
This one looks to be a second chance love story where you find the one who got away all those years ago at a club.

Scot Under the Covers
by Suzanne Enoch
I’m excited for the release of Scot Under the Covers for several reasons.
One, I’ve never read a Suzanne Enoch novel so it’s about time!
Two, I’m a sucker for romance books with hot Scots in them so bring on Highlander Aden MacTaggert.
Three, Miranda Harris sounds like one strong heroine that I’ll be rooting for as she works to help her brother and to save her honor while forming a pact with Aden who’s in need of a bride to save his family’s inheritance.

Something in the Air
by L.H. Cosway
L.H. Cosway writes the most unique characters and settings in her stories. I love the Running on Air series which focuses on a group of parkour free runners.
Michaela Olson works for this crew and has fallen in love with James. Too bad he’s her boss and already engaged to someone else – until he’s not. What the what?!
I’m so looking forward to seeing these two dance around each other.

Totally Folked
by Penny Reid
Totally Folked kicks off a new series by Penny Reid which is fantastic since I’m still nursing a hangover from finishing her Winston Brothers series.
Plus, this book keeps us in Green Valley where we get Jackson James’ story.
I have a feeling we are going to see a different side to the Deputy Sherriff.

Chasing Cassandra
by Lisa Kleypas
Lisa Kleyaps returns this year with book #6 in The Ravenels series which will have all historical romance book lovers cheering.
This book pits railway magnate Tom Severin with Lady Cassandra Ravenel whom he has his eyes on to marry though Cassandra wants to marry for love.
Kleypas is quite the creator of strong female heroines, so I have a feeling Tom won’t know what he’s got himself into with this one.

The Honey-Don’t List
by Christina Lauren
I’ve been a big fan of the writing duo, Christina Lauren, for some time but lately their books have just been so-so for me. I’m hoping to be surprised with the latest when it releases in 2020, The Honey-Don’t List.
The premise of this one sounds cute with the opportunity for many hilarious moments when Carey and James go on a book tour road trip with their married bosses who can’t stand each other.
Can they keep their jobs and maybe find love in the process? I can’t wait to find out.

Heartland
by Sarina Bowen
Book 7 of the True North series, Heartland brings us Dylan’s story, which is a friends-to-lovers romance.
Not just any friends-to-lovers romance, but it looks like one of my favorites – the relationship coach romance trope, where Dylan is propositioned by his socially awkward best friend to tutor her outside the classroom.
I can’t wait to see where that goes!

Hi, I got an ARC for the Honey Don’t List and unfortunately it was a don’t for me. There wasn’t enough romance in this romance novel! Christina and Lauren chose to focus on the unwinding train wreck that is the Tripps’ marriage instead. I really wish they’d go back to their Beautiful Bastard roots. They’ve been hit or miss for me lately. I’m really looking forward to the next Penny Reid book. She can do no wrong for me.
Kate – A Grand Romance
I couldn’t agree more that I am much more of a Christina Lauren fan of their earlier works, especially the Beautiful Bastards books. Was going to give them one more try with this one but I’m sad (though maybe not surprised) that it was a don’t for you.
