The January 2020 Romance Book Reading Challenge is On!

Are you ready to kick off 2020 with this year’s romance book reading challenge?! Let’s do this.

This month’s challenge is an easy start to kick us off. All you have to do is pick your choice of a contemporary romance book– and the choices are endless with this genre.

Contemporary Romance – January’s Reading Challenge Selection

Contemporary romance novels, according to Romance Writers of America, are romance novels that are set from 1950 to the present that focus primarily on the romantic relationship, have a central love story and an emotionally satisfying ending.

Within contemporary romances as with other genres, books are also often catagorized by trope. Tropes give more information to the overall plot of the story. Popular romance book tropes include:

Want to Increase the Challenge?

With this month’s reading challenge, I’ve given you four additional categories for selecting a contemporary romance book read in January. You can try one, two, or all four. So if you’re up to reading more romance books this month, you can select:

What’s My January 2020 Romance Book Challenge Selection?

Heartland by Sarina Bowen is my contemporary romance book pick for the January 2020 Romance Book Reading Challenge by She Reads Romance Books.

Heartland
by Sarina Bowen

My January 2020 Romance Book Reading Challenge Selection is Heartland by Sarina Bowen. This is one of my most anticipated romance books for 2020 so I’m excited to dive right into this romance book by one of my most favorite authors this month.

Book 7 of the True North series, Heartland brings us Dylan’s story, which is a friends-to-lovers romance. Not just any friends-to-lovers romance, but it looks like one of my favorites – the relationship coach book, where Dylan is propositioned at college by his socially awkward best friend to tutor her outside the classroom. I can’t wait to see where that goes!
