July 2020 Romance Book Reading Challenge

July 2020 Romance Book Reading Challenge – The Hate We Love to Read!

WOW! We’re already half way through the romance book reading challenge for this year already, can you believe it?!

I hope you’re enjoying it as much as I am. I mean, I read romance books ALL THE TIME but it’s been fun making sure that I change it up with different genres and romance book tropes each month.

I can’t say that I’ve had a favorite challenge so far because I’ve loved them all, but I will say that I probably read the most books following the particular month’s challenge theme last month which was sports romance.

I really do love sports romance no matter what sport it’s about, and I read EIGHT sports romance books in the month of June! Wow. That’s three new hockey romance books, four new baseball romance books and one soccer romance book to add to my book list.

What has your first half of the Romance Book Reading Challenge been so far? Has any month’s theme stood out as a favorite for you? Did any month’s theme lead you to an epic read? If so, please share and let me know in the comments below.

Enemies to Lovers Romance – July’s Reading Challenge Theme

This month we’re diving into the hate we love to read for the July 2020 Romance Book Reading Challenge with the enemies to lovers trope.

All you have to do is pick one enemies to lovers romance book to read and you’ve completed the challenge. That’s it- easy peasy!

This romance trope is one of my favorites because relationships between characters that start off as enemies are such good fodder for sizzling chemistry and witty, sarcastic banter.

I love it when characters have that ah-ha moment when they realize there really is a thin line between love and hate and they’ve just crossed it. I’m partial to more light hearted enemies to lovers stories where the hate isn’t so cutting, making it easier to believe when feelings of love start to surface.

I also love a good office enemies to lovers story where the hatred between characters is fueled by a bit of workplace competition.

What’s My July 2020 Romance Book Challenge Selection?

The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker is a beautiful contemporary romance book that will leave you breathless while a few tears are shed. If you love enemies to lovers romance books, or opposites attract love stories then you’ll love this must read book. Book review by She Reads Romance Books

The Simple Wild
by K.A. Tucker

My July 2020 Romance Book Reading Challenge Selection is The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker.

I can’t believe I’ve never read a K.A. Tucker book before, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to pop that cherry with The Simple Wild. I’m not going to lie, my expectations are really high for this book given all the ratings and reviews it’s received, so here’s hoping that it lives up to expectations.

I love how this enemies to lovers book includes an opposites attract love story between a city girl and an outdoorsman when she returns to her roots. I’ve been to Alaska and was blown away by it’s beauty. I’m looking forward to diving back into that majestic world through words as well.
