November 2020 Romance Book Reading Challenge – A Second Chance at Love

It’s hard to believe but we are coming to the end of this year’s Romance Book Reading Challenge! Even if you are new to the challenge, join me for these last two months. It will be worth it!

I’m keeping it easy and simple with the challenge goal of reading one romance book each month to give readers a varied look at all that this book genre has to offer.

Whether you’re new to romance or a romance book junkie like me, you’ll love all the themes we explore in this Challenge.

This month we are taking on a different romance book trope for the Romance Book Challenge – second chance romance.

November is a month for gratefulness and while you always feel grateful for the love in your life, there is something special about finding love again after it was once lost.

Second Chance Romance – November’s Reading Challenge Theme

To participate in the November 2020 Romance Book Reading Challenge, all you have to do is pick one second chance romance book to read and you’ve done it!

A second chance romance book has a storyline where two people who once had a relationship or connection that was lost, reunite and find love again.

I love how the heart has to heal in order to open to love again in these stories. It makes the happily ever afters all the more sweet.

Want to Increase the Challenge?

If you’d like to take the Romance Book Reading Challenge up a notch this month or you really love this month’s trope, then you can tackle the November monthly romance book reading challenge.

For the November 2020 reading challenge, I’ve given you four categories for selecting additional second chance romance books to read.

Paradise
by Judith McNaught

Matthew Farrell may have been the boy from the opposite side of the tracks but that didn’t stop his ill-fated connection with socialite, Meredith Bancroft. Years later they are reconnected when lies are uncovered and their love rekindled.

This is my most favorite romance book and one of the first I ever read which hooked me on the romance genre.

There is so much to love about this romance, but its the second chance at love after such devastation and miscommunication that makes this one of the greatest worth reading.

Hard to Handle by K Bromber is a hockey romance that also weaves a second chance love story. Discover why this is one of Bromberg’s best books and one you’ll find worth reading. Read the full book review by popular romance book blogger, She Reads Romance Books

Hard to Handle
by K. Bromberg

Sports agent, Dekker Kincade has no choice but to approach pro hockey star, Hunter Maddox and hopefully sign him to save her family’s business. The only problem is that Dekker and Hunter have a past, and one she regrets running from all those years ago.

This is one of my favorites from K. Bromberg! I loved how this story wasn’t simply a matter of two people finding each other again, but really explored why they didn’t work in the first place.

It made me think about whether there really is such a thing as good timing when it comes to relationships. A great pick for a second chance romance.

Been There Done That by Hope Ellis is a wonderful second chance romance that I highly recommend reading. Check out my full book review by She Reads Romance Books.

Been There Done That
by Hope Ellis

As if Zora Leffersbee didn’t have enough to worry about with her tenure job in jeopardy, funding for her employees uncertain and a fake engagement to manage, the boy who broke her heart when he disappeared suddenly is now back in town and in her office.

This debut novel from Ellis is so, so good! It’s definitely one of my top 2020 reads for the year. It’s a terrific second chance love story between two people who never stopped loving each other.

What’s My November 2020 Romance Book Challenge Selection?

My book selection for this month’s challenge is a bit of a different take on the second chance love story theme.

The two characters in this book never had a first chance at a relationship but it was love at first sight. Will they have a second chance when they meet years later?

Izzy never believed in love at first sight until she ran into Sam. She asked him out, only to discover it was his wedding day. Years later when their paths cross again and everything’s changed, will the stars finally align or has too much time passed for true love to overcome?

I love the set up of this book and can’t wait to check it out. It’s a new author to me and a new release for November 2020 coming out November 10!
